Tila grew up in Houston, Texas, after her family migrated from her birthplace of Singapore. She experienced a rough early life, especially in her teenage years, after being involved in many controversies. Tila also ran away from home to New York City.

Tila also ventured music-making and recording in the mid-2000s. She started by becoming the vocalist of two bands, which she eventually left to pursue a solo music career. In 2007, she debuted her single “I Love U,” which faced mixed reactions by critics and her fans. In the same year, Tila also released her first EP, titled Sex.
Shortly, she made two more singles, which was released independently. After three years of her debut, the Vietnamese artist released her another EP project, titled Welcome to the Dark Side. The hot social media personality also tried writing, releasing her debut work in 2008.
Tila is also involved in a Nazi controversy that started through her social media posts and comments, publicly saying that she supports Adolf Hitler. Her fans also reacted negatively with her remarks, criticizing her behavior through Facebook, where she made her original statement. The controversy would also be the reason why she got denied to continue in the reality TV show, Celebrity Big Brother.
Despite her past wrongdoings, Tila Tequila still has a lot of fans that support her. Although now in her 30s, the Vietnamese social media superstar is always on top shape and is still able to wear a bikini suit whenever she likes.
