Born on February 4, 1983, Lauren Elizabeth Ash grew up and spent most of her childhood in Belleville, Ontario. The Canadian actress was a member of the Second City Chicago Mainstage and the Second City Toronto Mainstage.
Before Lauren moved to Los Angeles, she first tried her luck in Canada. She first started her acting career by appearing on the famous Canadian TV show, Video on Trial. She began as a juror on the comedy show from 2005 until 2014. While doing the Video on Trial, Lauren also guest-starred in the TV series, The Wilkinsons, in 2006. In the same year, she also had a small role in the CW TV series, Runaway, as a police officer.
Then, in 2007, Ash had a small role in the film, Lars and the Real Girl. In the same year, she appeared in an episode of Across the River to Motor City as Vicki. From 2006 to 2008, Lauren appeared mostly on TV, having small roles in the short series from Facebook of Revelations. Lauren had more small parts while doing her juror role in Video on Trial.
Lauren landed a recurring role in the 2009 comedy TV show, Howie Do It, with Howie Mendel and DJ Ravidrums and appeared in a total of 11 episodes. The Dating Guy was Lauren’s first voice-over job and voiced-over the characters, Sam Goldman and Danica Morris. Lauren’s voice got heard for a total of 26 episodes.
In the coming years of Lauren Ash’s career, she further had guest roles on TV sitcoms and shows. She also appeared in short films like S is for Bird and Apple’s Hack-Proof iPhone. It was until she got famous in the TV series, Super Fun Night, which starred Rebel Wilson and Liza Lapira.
In her most recent TV series role, Lauren played the character, Dina Fox. The show, Superstore, was her breakthrough since. While doing the show, Lauren battled PCOS and body shaming. She had a hard time dealing with PCOS because she did not know that it was a real thing.
Then, in 2019, Lauren shared that she finally won against PCOS and started to love her body more. She revealed that there is more to a woman than just having boobs and ass.
Her love for herself made her realize that PCOS is something that must not get overlooked, and women must immediately get diagnosed if they feel that there is something wrong with them.
