Georganne and John Campbell welcomed Danielle Marie Campbell on January 30, 1995. The Campbell family lived in Illinois before Danielle moved to Los Angeles for her acting career. Although Danielle wanted to become an actress at an early age, she did not get discovered through auditions, but in a hair salon while she and her family were in Chicago. She was ten years old when she got seen by an agent.
If you are familiar with the TV series, Prison Break, you would not probably recognize the young Danielle Campbell when she appeared on the show. Prison Break was her first TV appearance playing the role of Gracey Hollander. Danielle was on the show as a guest role appearing only in four episodes from 2006 to 2007.
Then, in her next project, Danielle appeared in the drama film, The Poker House. She portrayed the character of Darla. The movie got retitled as Behind Closed Doors and premiered in 2008 while Danielle was still 13 years old.
It took time for Danielle to have more acting projects. After her short appearance in The Poker House, her next project came after two years.
In 2010, Danielle guest-starred in the sitcom, Zeke and Luther. She appeared as the character, Dani, in the episode, “Double Crush”. After her guest role, she then landed a lead role for the Disney Channel original movie called Starstruck. She starred alongside Sterling Knight, who played the character, Christopher Wilde. The film premiered on Disney Channel on February 14, 2010.
Then, in 2011, Danielle starred in another film called Prom. She portrayed the character, Simone Daniels. The Walt Disney movie premiered on April 29, 2011, and garnered total sales of more than $10 million worldwide. Although the film did a good deal of sales, viewers say that it was a complete flap.
Danielle had other movie and TV show engagements before she landed a role on the CW series, The Originals. She appeared in the first three seasons of the series as the character, Davina Claire, and disappeared by the end of season three. Her leading role then resurfaced in season four and five.
After her big break in the TV series, The Originals, Danielle starred in other TV shows like the Runaways in 2017-2018. She also appeared in the drama series, Famous in Love, in 2018. Currently, she plays a leading role in the psychological-thriller TV series, Tell Me a Story.
