its basically how the public school system is destroying students mentally

I listened to the whole thing And as a high schooler this is perfectly true. When i was in middle school i was hit in the head with a stapler by a girl for no reason and i was the one punished not her. She barely missed blinding me.

Textbooks, That's all. We had weights being thrown around that would break through safety glass.

Dude I know exactly what you mean, during football my freshman year the lockers were lined up to where they separated the room in half. One day a fucking 75 lbs. free-weight came sailing over the lockers and nearly missed one of my friends head (literally by about 2 inches) followed by a shopping cart! I would love to have just a textbook thrown at me lol

Honestly, this starts out sounding like it will be a great arguement. The first story he brings up is a perfect example of corruption in the educational system. However he ruins it near the end when he starts changing the subject to how first school is teaching you how to go to a martial-law with one dictatorship that controls everything to how school is completely pointless and then how it's just "...all about money..." If he had stuck with one topic it'd be powerful to listen to, but it turned into little more then angst in our ears.

On an oppopsite note, Natu got bullied by a group of girls when she was in High School, then she started getting in trouble for stuff they did. It should go without saying that eventually things got violent, and it seems to us that the victim is always hurt more by the school system then anyone else in a conflict around a High School. The entire system in general has been flawed for years.

I noticed that in his argument too and the victim is always hurt more by the system because of the zero tolerance policy which basically deems the right of self defense useless.

You also have to notice how the teacher is obviously an idiot. If we didn't know better, we'd guess it was in New jersey. The "Ten-Year" thing here is terrible as teachers don't even bother with their classes. As an example we've been told a story about a teacher showing the class a powerpoint he got from the internet, then without knowing leaving the projector system on and playing WoW in the middle of a class. The boy who told me this story had no idea how to do any of the work either and didn't receive any help.

haha what a coincidence, just today is a perfect example of the freedom of speech that they take from us.

I was in p.e class (we were in a gym with 2 full basketball courts) & I was kicking the wall, well not so much as kicking as I was tapping it with my foot. Anyways the teacher told me to stop kicking that wall - I did. I said "it's not going to break down Ms.", she said " well you know what, leave, go outside." so I walk outside into the football field. The class later walks out into the field & she tells me to go sit on the bleachers & I do, I'm walking towards the bleachers & she yells, "not those. the other bleachers" - which are across the field. So I say "Whats the difference between the bleachers?".
She calls over security to have me escorted to the dean's office for being defiant & not following instructions.

TL;DR - my teacher sends me to the dean's office for sitting on the wrong bleachers.

well that is a really trivial reason to be sent to the office. I mean I was sent to the office for using childish forms of psych warfare against teachers so that I could figure out what their buttons were and which ones got the strongest reaction when pushed, 90% of them hated to not have control of someone so I would argue with them until they got mad and started slipping up.

I agree that they hate not having control. The good thing is in Vermont not too many teachers actually do this. We kind of are a backwater state that actually uses our heads.

From my experience, There are three types of teachers: The Idealist, the Zealot, and then the good ones.

The Idealist wanted to be a teacher to inspire, educate, and have one of those stupid "uplifting true stories" written and then made into a lifetime movie about them. Then they actually become a teacher and have to spend seven hours a day locked in a box with about thirty kids who would rather be anywhere but there.

The Zealot wanted to be a teacher for mostly the right reasons, with one misguided conception about the classroom: that kids are going to behave all on their own. These teachers are then outraged whenever someone in the class so much as rolls their eyes. They frequently overreact, and are subsequently amazed that that only makes the kids hate them more.

Then there are the the good ones. These are the level-headed ones, they have no illusions about how much a kid wants to be in school. If anyone misbehaves, they try to punish them as fairly as possible. If someone comes to them for help, they try to help. It is because of these teachers that you only hate most of humanity.

Then of course there is the other category that I didn't include: the idiot. These are the teachers that must have been the kid of someone in congress. You have no idea how they even graduated high school.

i know what this kid means. This happens all the time. Once this guy started harassing my friends. He was calling them names and shoving and punching some of them, so i come up and tell him to stop but he doesn't and then punches me. So i gave him one last warning then he swung at me so i grabbed his fist and used pain compliance to force him to the ground. Then his friends come over and all 5 of them including the first dude tried to jump me so i kicked all their asses then they get some teacher and try to get me expelled. So i ran out of there with my friends before the teacher got a good look of us.
