I guess those two blocks were just meant to be connected in that way. As you can see, the top gap thing in the light green piece just has two spaces, while the top has three. The extension from the brown piece is three units long and the base is only two units wide.
This makes sense to me, I guess, but I explained it poorly.

yeah i know what you mean but the point of the post was saying how it still takes up the same amount of space with just one little whole gone
See, I explained it poorly, because that is what I was trying to say.
Umm... It's a right triangle, so if the two legs (a and b) are the same length, it's mathmatically impossible for the hypotenuse to be a different length (a^2 + b^2 = c^2). Good try!
Your wrong, do your research!
The Green Triangle has an estimated surface area of 5 square units. And a slope of 2/5.
The Red Triangle has an estimated surface area of 12 square units. And a slope of 3/8.
The Orange Rectangle shape has a surface area of 7 square units.
And last the Green Rectangle shape has a surface area of 8 square units.
If you add them all up you get a total surface area of 32 square units.
BUT, if you find the total surface area of the top triangle, it is 32.5, for the bottom triangle, you get 31.5.
They appear to be the same shape but in reality you are losing a whole block in the estimation of difference of slopes. When you find the least common denominator for the two slopes, you end up with 15/40, and 16/40, a single block difference. And thus, your missing block.
You fail, but thanks for trying. Go home already, you have like 7 days left.

No, Fire Lord Ozai. You're not wearing pants.
Nevermind. I see what you are saying now.

they aren't triangles man. haha he was right all sides on a triangle have to be straight so its a quadrialteral
Ha some people really need to go to school.
