The World Cup groups have been drawn!!
Some facts about each of the groups and things to be aware of:
In the group you play the other three nations once each. The top two teams of each group after these games go through to the next round.
Boasting the hosts and favourites Brazil who should go through smoothly, the second place is up for grabs between the other three teams
Spain-Netherlands is a repeat of the 2010 world cup final, so that'll be interesting. Chilie are also a very high quality side, so Australia are not expected to even get 1 point
A relatively easy group; although none of the sides are all that bad, there are none here that are amazingly good either
A very hard one to play in. The weather conditions will be a considerable factor here, because this group will play their games in very very high humidity, and all teams wanted to avoid group D. Luckilly for England..we landed straight in it with Italy and Uruguay who are two very big hitters. It'll be close to see whether England can make it out of the group or not
Lucky France. Dubbed as the easiest group France should make it out, and then it's down to Switzerland or Ecuador as to who will be the second side out of this.
Good luck Iran. Not a particularly hard group; though it has Argentina who are 4th favourites, the other three sides are nothing special; though Iran are quite a way below the other two who will be aiming for second
Group of Death. All four of these countries are power-houses. Germany, 3 times winner and 3rd favourites; Portugal with the best player in the world Ronaldo; Ghana who made it to the quarter finals last year, and the United States who are no slouch of a team either. But i'm sorry American's, i don't think you're progressing out of the group this time.
Another average group. Belgium are the dark-horses of the overall tournament, as their team has a lot of high quality stars, though they have never been in a world cup for about 12 years i think. Algeria are one of the worst teams in the competition, so the fight for second should be interesting
Overall i think we have some very exciting groups here, with none of them being too lacking of quality; and some of them showing 3 or 4 very good sides.
England and Germany - my two countries - both got hard groups which isn't good, but if they make it out then it shows the strength they have. The United States as well; where the majority of the Sharenation come from; have a difficult time, but you never know what could happen.
Here's my prediction of who will go through from each group:
A: Brazil & Croatia
B: Spain & Netherlands
C: Colombia & Ivory Coast
D: Italy & Uruguay
E: France & Switzerland
F: Argentina & Nigeria
G: Germany & Portugal
H: Belgium & Russia
