While the 360 used to break down a lot more(23.7%) of the time compared with PS3's(11%), since the introduction of the new models less than 1% have suffered RRoD failures in their first year. Even if you were 5 of those 1% of all sales, which I highly doubt, Microsoft replaces it for FREE in a week or two. This is not to mention that on average the XBOX is played over 100 minutes more per month than the PS3.

cash you do realize you can send your 360 in to Mircosoft and they will fix it no charge?
I still had my Launch Xbox360 untill october of 2008 and then it finally red ringed but the repair was free cuz the launch ones had an awesome warranty (Because so many RRD'd i guess i was just lucky) and the one i have now hasnt given me a single bit of trouble :)

The money you would spend on an XBOX 360 and a separate Blu-ray player is more than if you just bought a PS3. That's why. Using your logic, why buy a phone that is also an MP3 player? Yet the iPhone sells like crazy.

bullshit- my PS3 plays both blueray and reg dvd - and even my bootleg copies of movies still in the theater AND I can watch videos on porn-hub on my PS3's web browser so thats not true.

Definitely Play Station 3. It may not have Halo, but that's okay because HALO SUCKS ASS. It has Cod, And games like Heavy Rain, the Sabotuer and Uncharted 1 and 2 (which got game of the year thank you very much) It has a built in Blu-Ray Player and Free Online, all you need is a Wi-Fi connection. You get more for your buck with Playstation 3

Yeah, xbox is purely gaming, it can only play games and you have to pay for the online play. Whereas with the ps3 you can play games, listen to music, watch videos, watch blu-ray dvds, surf the internet (yes sharenator does work on it), ps3 home and to top it all off the online play is free!
Plus i think the console looks better and if you were to by a blu-ray player on its own that waould set you back over half the cost of the actual ps3. So overall the ps3 is a much better console all round.

I dont see why, a PC can be upgraded so much higher then a PS3 or an Xbox. It also doesnt get out of date, only the parts do, whcih are pretty inexpensive to swtich out over every 6 months to a year. Plus, theres tons of games for PC AND it can play them with better graphics AND it can play blu rays if you buy the correct drive.

i get you spend way to much money for a top of the line rig. i get that my ps3 has never had a computer bug. i get that a game system was built top to bottom for games. a computer not so much. a swiss army knife is nice, but some times you just want the knife.
Building your own computer is much less expensive then buying a top of the line rig like an alienware or a beefed up HP. And yeah, computers with the RIGHT specs and the RIGHT hardware, can be built top to bottom for top of the line game performance, game performance that blows away both the XBox 360 and PS3. Both of those systems are compact computers that don't get upgraded.
PCs are easy to maintain and keep bug free if you're smart not that Im saying you arn't but it doesnt take much. But the way game systems are going, soon they will have that crap too. With internet browsing, downloading, blah blah.

Little Big Planet is one of the best games I've ever played, too bad it's a PS3 exclusive. But then again, you don't spend 300 bucks for one game. So my vote still goes to Xbox360.

I go for 360 because Halo. PS3 has literally NO exclusives that I want. Also, I'm pretty poor and I can afford $50 per year for online, as well as all my friends, so don't try to pull that free internet BS. My XBOX has never had the RRoD, but my brothers did and Microsoft replaced it for free in 2-3 weeks. PS3's get yellow line of death and Sony doesn't even replace them for free. There goes the money you save for free internet.
Go for PS3 if you are so immature you can't mute the annoying people. You can't even hear people if you are in Party Chat, so that's really a non-issue, provided you have friends. Obviously none of you complaining about this issue have played XBOX, or you would know how easy of a fix it is.

I'm not sure if someone has mentioned this, but I like my PS3 for all the reasons mentioned earlier, plus the fact that if you want to upgrade your XBOX hard drive, you have to buy an XBOX hard drive. If you want to upgrade your PS3 hard drive, just buy any SATA hard drive and slap that mofo in. I have a 750 GB PS3.
Personally , I like Xbox. It's not that I have a particular reason. It's what my friends had, so it's what I've had. I saw it and wanted it. I didn't see any better game system and had given up my old PS2 a little earlier. Then I got a 360. Not many hardware problems for me, but once in while a disk wouldn't read. No big deal. A few weeks ago I traded up for a new 360, the sleeker ones with no RRoD. It's pretty sweet, but it's not much better than the old one, minus a few terrible, evil glitches. Honestly, even as a Xbox fan boy, I see no reason to buy one over the other, but my experience with the Xbox has been an enjoyable one, but if you're going to get an Xbox, get the new one.

Their consoles are cheap compared to the PS3, and there latest model the Xbox 360 slim, and i have been told by friends who have bought it it runs smoothly with no faults, quiet, and with kinect ready, and the price is the same of the old model too.
Red ring of death, i have had this once in my lifetime, so i guess it depends on who you buy it from, where you place your Xbox and your luck.
In my opinion the Xbox controller is well designed to fit your hands and styles of playing.
If i have left any out, I can't remember them. Feel free to debate and correct.

xbox because its easy to connect to a laptop if you know how to do it computer access is great the games are great the graphics are good but the both have pros and cons so really its just what fits your needs the best
I have a ps3 and i prefer it to the 360 but there are two things i like about the 360 which are the exclusives (gears of war and halo) and party chat. I dont really give a shit about the console war though i wish there could just be one console that everyone who is into gaming plays on or they go on pc

i must defend the ps3 honor lolz im not goin to lie but xbox isnt bad but it isnt good either they both have their pros and cons both get hotter than the australin outback in the summer but they have good warranties =) they both have pretty good games playstation is more favorable in my cause even tho l4d is crazy fun they both have diffrent controls and its kinda hard 2 switch over when you are used to playing one type of game for years and years so thats that they are both good and bad but still i recomend playstation for free internet =)

i think its awesome that everyone has gotten involved with this debate, but i personally like the xbox 360 for a few reasons.
1) there is a larger variety of games and gametypes for different people
2) the network is more reliable( which is probably why we have to pay for it :p)
3) i like the controller much better( i had a PS2 and im pretty sure the controllers ore the same as PS3?)
people might say that im a microsoft fanboy because i had a legit 50 in halo and a sponsorship for MW2, but then again its your decision, go for the xbox, and if you do, add me! :D

funny i play MAG. 256 people in one room. 256 on the same online shooter playing together. it plays a lot smoother than COD on the xbox. i wonder why can sony make a game with 256 that runs very smooth but the xbox can't run 24 people in cod without lag?
Its cause Sony had thier own servers dont have to service as many people online at once like microsoft does. Thus they can create games with this bandwith. Also MAG is really laggy but you cant notice it, because of the way it processes information. It processes the info closest to the person then farther out. The lag is there but you cant notice it from their smart networking on the game. CoD has to process all the info at the same time.
