My parents have never given me a large pet (cats, dogs, etc.) that they payed for. Every pet we've ever had in my house, aside from three gerbils and a few fish, have been strays, or were offspring of the strays. I like them better than pets you buy, not to say I condone the existence of stray pets.

Well, there is a bright side. Despite prison being a dangerous place, perhaps less so than the streets, the man will get three square meals and a bed. Still, that is terribly harsh.
