im not a lawyer or anything but i think that they can search cars if you're under suspicion, but i'm pretty sure they can't arrest you without telling you anything. you have to be read your rights and explained to about why you're being arrested. so if they did really just cuff you and look through your car without saying a word then you might have a case

why not just make it so you can click on the items u want on ur smart phone instead of scanning them... that way u culd just do it all from home
