alright so by now most of you know that i've been working on my writing a lot. but here's the thing i need some good quotes to put into it (one of the characters is a philosopher of sorts and i picture them as someone who would quote historical figures/ works often) so heres the deal i'm going to give the person i deem to have picked the best quote 30% of my next post (and the quote has the highest chance of getting into the book. maybe i'll base a character on you or something as well:D ) second place gets 20% and third gets 10%. try to make sure the quotes are meaning full i doesn't need to be about life, death, leadership but i would prefer that theme. just make sure that it means something to you or you think it has a great message. can't wait to see what you guys pick :)

All great movements are popular movements. They are the volcanic eruptions of human passions and emotions, stirred into activity by the ruthless Goddess of Distress or by the torch of the spoken word cast into the midst of the people.
    Adolf Hitler

Hate is more lasting than dislike.
    Adolf Hitler

I use emotion for the many and reserve reason for the few.
    Adolf Hitler

A man will fight harder for his interests than for his rights.
    Napoleon Bonaparte

Humanitarianism is the expression of stupidity and cowardice.
    Adolf Hitler

A true man hates no one.
    Napoleon Bonaparte

A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool.
    William Shakespeare

But O, how bitter a thing it is to look into happiness through another man's eyes.
    William Shakespeare

Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more; it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
    William Shakespeare

Love is too young to know what conscience is.
    William Shakespeare

A man who is good enough to shed his blood for the country is good enough to be given a square deal afterwards.
    Theodore Roosevelt

Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.
    Theodore Roosevelt

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.
    Theodore Roosevelt

Big jobs usually go to the men who prove their ability to outgrow small ones.
    Theodore Roosevelt

History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.

i could use those quotes in a way to deter one of the main characters from making a bad choice... i actually think i could work that in depending on the context it's used in and i think i also have a way to get you into the book :) (i'm really trying to avoid putting in characters based fully on people i know because i know a lot of people are going to die. that doesn't mean that some traits from people i know won't show up though)
