Um any recommendations on the model i should get? cause im kind of new to the whole preparing for the end of the US thing. hopefully we don't blow ourselves and the rest of the planet up -.-
You know, I love America, I love this country. That's why I enlisted in the Marine Corps to fight for it. But this.... I am ashamed to be an American today after learning about this. It makes me ashamed to support and defend a system of government that might soon revoke every right that we earned and fought for throughout our nations history.
I myself, prefer to avoid politics. I view all of them as crooked showmen that earn a living taking bribes from corporations and use their power to influence their own corporate or political agenda... But this, this in my opinion is too far.
This is why I feel that every member of Congress should be stripped of their power. This is why I feel that every justice should be stripped of their seat. I feel that we must make changes to this nation, or we will soon lie to ourselves about our freedoms we think we possess.
I think that Congressmen and women should be limited in their terms. Congress is a civil duty, not a fucking job. Clean house every 4 and 8 years.
I actually even agree with President Obama on his stance with this bill. I hope he veto's it over and over until it dies.
/political rant.
Sorry guys...

Well said, but I have this to add:
That same congress you think should be stripped from power (My view is most of them deserve hi-fives, in the face, with tire irons.) Was elected. George Carlin once said "When you have a population of selfish, ignorant people, you end up with selfish, ignorant leaders."
Blame the politicians all you want, because god knows they deserve it. But if the average American can't be bothered to make an informed choice or have an informed opinion, they deserve this result. Of course, lack of choice is always an issue. Vote for the party that worships corporate interests like it's their religion (Republicans) or the party that doesn't even have the balls to competently fight the former (Democrats.)
But rather than demand competence and integrity from the people they elect, Americans find it easier to be willfully ignorant to what they do or say. You yourself said you try to avoid politics and this is arguably part of the problem. A Canadian politician named Elizabeth May once said: "Democracy is not a spectator sport." While I don't agree with all of her or her party's views, I can't argue that at all.

let it out here to show that the military is human not machine.
agreed with you Bacon, personaly i try to stay as far away from politics and such as possible, but this is just wrong on so many levels that i cant ignore it.
well this sucks, at least we still have the second amendment and i see it from this point of view
"The beauty of the second amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it." -Thomas Jefferson
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.-Thomas Jefferson

You don't seriously think normal US citizens have the balls or resources to fight a war with their own gov't, do you? For every potential revolutionary, The US gov't probably has an Apache helicopter. That's not even counting the Marine Corps, Special forces, Airforce, Navy Seals, etc. Where do you think that 666 billion dollars a year for defense goes?
Thinking the 2nd amendment has any use in this context, in this day and age is a fantasy. Not to mention back when Jefferson said that, the US barely had an organized military force and muskets where about the only guns made.

when you make peaceful revolution impossible you make violent revolution inevitable. -JFk really the way I see it ending if this passes through will be a very violent coup that will call for the head of everyone involved in the passing of this blatant act of treason.
ya i agree you may want to check out the post i just put up it goes hand in hand with this one

seriously? why can't he world wait till after 2012 to go to shit so at least we don't have the people going crazy about the end of the world as well?
These guys are tools who have delusions of grandeur. I wonder how much good these guys could do if they got off their lazy ass helped in the community. Its much easier to complain behind a mask than it is to help as your self. Yet again the tools take the easy route. To the tools, go volunteer your time, work in a homeless shelter, adopt a mile, have a fund raiser to help your community schools. Or just be worthless and hide behind a mask.
I agree man, I'm just so bored of this 'anonymous' bullshit and their bandwagon of 14 year olds.
Wonder how they all of them will do when the zombie's come!!
Nothing on any major news networks. US govt isn't goning to gag EVERY news outlet. Is thing recent? The news intailed in the video is freaky but, MSNBC, CNN, BBC, they've all covered anonymous before and I dont see anything on this.
Yeah and the last part of it was verbatium what V said on the movie. This is freaky shit but is it legit?
the bill is real and it has till the 13th to be bashed im hoping for the best but keeping my guns loaded.
Yeah I saw something about it on Forbes of all places...Amazing we could be talking about something RIGHT HERE and be tracked down and called terrorists. Simply mind blowing.
the daily show did a piece on this! then again it's also comedy central.....
I was waiting for him to say he was going to blow up the ol' statue of Liberty. He altered the movies speach, why not alter the movies actions taken?
ok i came back just to say this comment and no i just came on the site to check it i haven't been lurking this whole time. i agree that this whole thing they're are trying to do is bullshit. to me its starting to seem like this contrey is to controlling they are doing to much. they're are tiring to control the internet and now they're trying to control our life's entirely. i dont know about everyone else but if this bill does pass i am leaving the USA for good im propley going to find someway to get to Canada. mainly because i am starting to despise this contrey because of their attempts to keep a leach on us and make sure we don't say anything about over throwing the government in anyway
This reminds me a lot of when the PATRIOT act was passed. Passed under the impression that it would block terrorism, while decimating the 4th amendment. Instead, the government mostly used it to catch drug dealers and other criminals.
Even if it was being passed to fight Al-Qaeda, it begs the question: What are we still fighting for? Bin-Laden's dead, and the US' drone strikes are pummeling the rest of Al-Qaeda, with minimal civilian casualties. The only weapon these people had was surprise. It's incredibly unlikely any attack like 9/11 will happen again with all of the security upgrades and awareness. Even if they did, how many people died? A little under 3000. The death of innocent life is tragic, no doubt. But when a politician like Lindsay Graham says (I'm Paraphrasing) "Al-Qaeda isn't just some gang, they're a real threat." I want to laugh. Al-Qaeda WISHES they could kill as many Americans as gang violence does.
All of this aside, these same politicians would say "they hate us for our freedom!" This is bullshit. They hate us because we're invading/bombing their countries. (Justified or not, The US is up to 4 Muslim countries now. Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen and Pakistan. I might even be missing one or two.)
Even if they did hate the US for its freedoms, it destroys that point when they take away your freedoms to fight them.

I used to be anonymous, then I took an arrow to the knee.
