bloody awesome film if you've ever seen it
Right with the Glock and Mossberg, but your wrong on the M4. Look at the bottom of the picture's web address... ^^ Typically M4s don't see a lot of modifications, although most M4s can receive AR15 bits and pieces, it's uncommon since the M4 is Military/Police only.
M4 is a civilian version of an AR15. AR15s are standardized, those are not AR15s, they are AR15-style rifles. M4s have many versions... M4a1, a2, a3, a4, etc... different sized barrels etc... adjustible stock is one of the defining differences.
AR15s typically have a fixed stock, 20" barrel. as you can see, those M4s vary in size, and all have adjustible stocks.
and that site is dedicated to AR15 style rifles. not particularly the AR15.
also, m4 is typically not used by military. i believe youre thinking of the M16. its fairly easy for a civilian to purchase an M4. its a common autoloading rifle... and they see more modifications than any other autoloading rifle i've ever seen...
*edit* the one at the very bottom of that picture *might* be an AR15.

The AR 15 is the civilian version. M4 is a nomeclature given to the select fire versions of the weapon system for identification in the military system. Both civilian and military versions come with different length barrels and different iron sight/optic combinations. Here are some of my babies. The Infidel rifle is my competition rifle, and the other is my work gun.

From our experience working at a Firing Range, we've seen AR15s modified in hundreds of ways. They are extremely customizable with a large range of aftermarket items available for them. We have seen AR15s that fire .50s and that fire .22s, so we believe anything is possible.
Examples:

www.midwayusa.com/static/ar-15.aspx
www.sogarmory.com/
(first links on a google search for "Ar15 Parts")

that goes for almost any popular gun... i was speaking about preset factory configurations, which those appear to be.
modified M4
you can find after market products for any guns... but there are not typically many preset factory configurations for an AR15. go to a website like budsgunshop.com and look at all the diff m4 configurations they alone sell.
M4s always come with a collapsible stock (you need a special NY or California legal version for it to be fixed). AR15s typically do not have a collapsible stock. the pictures posted in the original post showed multiple AR15 style rifles with multiple factory configurations, all with collapsible stocks. my point remains.
thats enough.

Bah, fuck Wikipedia ^^ Go get your hands on a real one! We'd help if we could, but sadly that violates many of our terms of internet usage and we think possibly a few laws... *shifty eyes*
Waaaaait, did you mean the gun's stock? Because we're pretty sure you can buy those for an AR15 too... >=P

sigh...
this is an AR15.
this is an M4
4 and 5 in that picture look like they might be an AR15... but ill stand by what i said.
but youre forgetting. the classic, stereotype, iconic AR15 looks like this:
which is not pictured above. pictured above is, however... a stereotype M4.

m4 is the military law enforcement carbine version of the m16, ar15 is based off the m16/m4 family

lolz i was thinking the same maybe he should gat an armored RV?
Either way all that stuff, will be a tight fit, so i hope it will just be you. And by the way if i was bit i would take a knife (melee weapon), a pistol, and a stick of dynamite or other explosive and take as many of the bastards as i can with me.
Guns first:
this one's a bit of a stereotype but there's a reason for that
tried and tested and the british army's primary infantry rifle. also, i've shot these many times before so it's one i'm used to
just look at it, sexy isn't it. also used by the british army
Knives/Melee:
i have one of these in a cupboard somewhere with the same exact sheath
go all gordon freeman on their asses. also useful for breaking into houses and suchlike
another one i've got. awesome knife, used by the Gurkha's since they first formed
Accessories:
you need something to carry all your shit in and anything you pick up on the way
you need some sort of entertainment, also for the lulz
doesn't need batteries and if it's on your head, it frees up your hands for any two handed jobs you may need to do in the dark
you need some good footwear if you're to take the on-foot route for getting around. they also look pretty sick
you obviously need food and this stuff doesn't go off for several years. it also doesn't taste as bad as it looks and i think you don't need to cook any of it but i may be mistaken
if you do need to be cooking it, you need something to cook the food in and mess tins are just a simple, no fuss method of doing just that
hexi stoves are simple heat sources for cooking. the fuel can also be used as firelighters and they pack up nice and neatly and small.
Ammo holding:
with a backpack on, you can't really be wearing any sort of tactical vest set-up so leg pouches are out of the way but easily accessible though, you could always wear trousers with leg pockets, which would make things easier.
for the shotgun. an extra magazine could be kept in a leg pocket or pouch
last thing, you need some sort of first aid kit for cuts and scrapes but not bites, your just fucked if that happens

i may be being a bit stupid here but what's a vakra?
alright, cool. just didn't know, google wasn't being that helpful
i would only use the first one
well guns can run out of ammo swords can't
those were some mighty fine collections. honestly i would go to the nearest Asian Gifts store, stock up on a shit ton of swords, then go to wal mart and buy a shotgun or two. just in case my ninja skills aren't badass enough in the first place :D
Yes. I see your point. I see your two shotguns and raise you my own idea. A claymore strapped to my crotch so that if I get swamped I can thrust and explode the zombies in front of me.
This is one of the weapons in the line of thrust activated zombie weaponry.

I will be held up in my cabin in the mountains so I'm looking long term. All things needed for growing plants in doors, loading equipments and supplies, all the fire arms I have with per-existing ammunition, materials to make zombie sized hamster wheels for power generation, fishing and hunting equipment, gasoline/diesel reserves, water pumps to scavenge gas from reservoir tanks at gas stations and pump water. The rest of the stuff is already up there.
Assuming I don't have a well stocked cabin in the woods (I don't) here's how I'd do it.
A school bus for shelter/ transportation: It could be nicely fortified, carries a ton of stuff, you can live in it and the diesel engine will burn a variety of things if diesel is scarce (SVO, stove oil, hell even used motor oil if you're in a warmer climate and you filter it first). An RV would be ok but its lack of ground clearance, relatively light duty parts and flimsy construction would be a liability and personally I put a higher value on them than the comfort that it would afford.
Weapons: Crossbow with a good overstock of bolts. Silent and reusable ammo, great for single or small groups of zombies and no noise to bring more running to you. A .38 revolver for the simplicity (.45 or 9mm would be good to) as ammo should be easy to find. A good shotgun and hunting rifle are a must as well (we don't have a lot of M16's or AR15's kicking around here lol).
Food/water: I'd be scavenging any dried or canned goods that I could get my hands on, rations too if I stumble on them. I'd get some pots and soil and grow some tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, anything that could be done in a good sized pot or in planters on the roof (till I found a decent cabin somewhere to hunker down). I'd rig up a decent sized cistern in the bus to horde water in and a rainwater collection system. Not so big it'll be too heavy but big enough I could go a good stretch without finding more water.
Other things that don't need a lot of detail are first aid supplies and medicines, generator, etc, etc.

only problem i see it that you dont have a close quarters weapon. thats always a key factor because if they do some how manage to get in close you need have something on hand to be able to quickly kill them with no noise at a close range. personally i would go with one of these
starting at the top the first three would be the best for this type of situation the first of course being a heavy duty weapon with multiple functions. the second one also being along the same lines. the third is a two handed machete which would be great for hitting them at a distance but does lack the ability to kill any that manage to get right in your face. the fourth is my personal favorite because of the design but due functional purposes i would personally keep the first weapon with me at al times plus the first does look pretty fucking badass. the fifth and sixth are just examples of some that could be found which would come in handy if needed but i feel would lack the power to be heavily reliable for an extended amount of time

a crossbow can be used as a melee weapon. the bows can be used to a similar effect as a pickaxe. since the most dense material you'd be hitting is the skull or neck you would be fine. also the bolts can be used as skewers in a pinch.
i didnt put a crossbow on my list for the simple reason of regardless of how high tech your string is, if it gets wet you lose tension and range. i have 3 melee CQB weapons, hammer, machete, axe.

true but i would rather not use a weapon like that as a melee weapon unless i don't have any other choice because breaking it would prove to be a devastating loss. the only real reason i would have it would be for the silent distant kill which would prove useful when scavenging. i agree with the choices you have but i think rather than the hammer i would go with a hatchet for the simple reason that it's fairly light weight and provides easy access. the gerber machete (first picture) has a built in axe reducing the weight that i would need to be carrying around leaving room for the far reaching two handed machete which would be my primary weapon for the reason that i can hit them faster at a distance with more power and still have two fall back close weapons should i need to abandon the two handed machete whether it breaks or it becomes to tight to use it.
the hammer is a necessity as far as i'm concerned. i'd prefer not to use a hatchet as a hammer for the simple reason that thats not its intended use. i'd prefer to carry 3 tools plus a main weapon, instead of 1 tool, 1 multi-use tool, and a primary weapon. the machete/axe you posted doesn't work near as well as a simple wood axe for chopping through wood, doors and possibly walls.
the 3 tools can also be used as a backup for CQB. if the axe handle breaks and the machete gets stuck in bone, the hammer is a tool that can be used without fear of getting it stuck. and if you get an all metal one you dont worry about the handle either
