I hate how every single fucking movie now is 3D just so they can charge you an extra $3 for glasses that probably cost about 20 cents to make. Movie industry BASTARDS. I blame you, James Cameron.

I hate 3D. It's painful on the eyes, restricts your ability to make out in the theater (have you tried making out with those glasses?! It's impossible!) and it makes the movie look dark.

I agree it should in no way be mandatory that you have to buy fresh glasses every time you go to see a 3D film! Especially as it goes against everything we are being taught about recycling in our otherwise ordinary mundane lives!
It kind of stinks of double standards to me!

the movie theaters that have 3D movies that I have been to actually encouraged us to keep our glasses from, for example, Avatar for future 3D stereoscopic movies

At our local Vue cinema we are encouraged to leave them in the bins provided on the way out and are then charged £3 next time we visit. If we say we still have them we are told we still have to pay the £3 surcharge!

Yeah, same here! So I started keeping the glasses and buying a ticket to a random 2D movie and then just walking into whatever 3D movie I want to see :D

The fact is you've already paid for a pair once why pay again!
That way less glasses need producing!

The only thing about 3D movies that annoys me is when they add some lame scene or occurence to pander to the 3D that just looks stupid in 2D.

I'd much rather see a good movie that happened to be in 3D, Black Hawk Down and Saving Private Rayan would be terrifyingly epic.

I am colorblind so the threeeeee deeeeeeee thing doesn't really work for me most of the time. It just gives me a headache. which sucks because either I have to a) get a headache b) sit there and listen to the movie with my eyes closed c) my kids miss out on watching the 3-d movie or d) I have to miss out on going to the movies with my kids

3-d sucks all around if you're colorblind!!!

woahh.... they shouldnt make you throw them away. you are supposed to pay for them ONCE, then KEEP the glasses. then next time just take your own glasses. Well thats what happens at my local cinema. You pay an extra 50p i think (about $1) to watch the film in 3D, then £1 ($2) for the glasses. If you already have glasses, you dont buy another pair.

I hate how they're trying to push this on TV too. I'm not going to replace current TV in favour of the same thing but with cheap 3D effects. That, and I hate those glasses.

We went to the movies yesterday and they were showing a trailer of the Justin beiber movie and in like .5 seconds everyone in the theater was yelling and booing oh but hey its going to be in 3-D the thing that made the whole night possible was that one girl yelling "you only wish you could be like him!" to which I yelled out he sucks d*ck that made everyone laugh.

Now, I thought the same thing that they charged extra money for the glasses, which is why I brought them with me to every theater I went to, so when they told me why I still had to pay the extra money, I asked why, saying it was ridiculous, and in reality, you pay extra money for the 3D projection, not the 3D glasses. They just give you the 3D glasses for the movie, because I went to see a 2D movie and I asked for a pair and I got them for free. But yeah, it's the projection, not the glasses. It costs more money for them to project a 3D movie than it does a 2D movie. They have to buy the 3D projector, and who knows what other resources are necessary for the showing of a 3D movie.
