Windows 7

So, Windows 7 took forever to install, but it was definitely worth the wait from what I can see so far... lets at least look at the first obvious difference from it and Vista....
7 desktop - windows 7

The task bar has changed alot, all the windows are now smaller and have larger icons. The task bar is also clear and you can see the desktop through it. The start menu didn't change much from Vista, but it has been a little bit more streamlined. The button on the bottom right of the task bar is the show desktop button. Hovering the mouse over will make all windows clear like the task bar and clicking the button minimizes all windows. Another example of things being see through on 7 is that when a window is maximized, the title bar is still clear unlike in Vista when it would become opaque.

A very small amount of visual enhancements have been made as well. For instance, the buttons on the task bar that represent each individual window will show a glowing light directly underneath the mouse while it goes over. The start button lights up more dramatically as well.

Some user-interface changes have been made, such as the "show hidden icons" button brings up a small window where the hidden icons are. The one that isn't so obvious, but everybody knows about is the snap feature where dragging the window to either the extreme left or right will cause the map to "snap" into position on the respective side of the screen. This is useful for comparing two windows at the same time without constantly resizing each window.

I've been keeping tabs on Microsoft and there are apparently apps that you can download to help improve Windows. If you have any questions, ask in the comments and I'll try to answer. :)

You are required to have a cd key.... if you don't then you can only run it for 30 days and then it will freeze your computer up...

Knowing Microsoft, you can use the same cd key for it. I'll msg on facebook for it once its done downloading. Or if you don't want to I can just hit up some people on a forum. hehe. (and no I don't pay for shit)

Thats pretty good, I say it blows Vista clear out of the water, but I still have to say that neither of them stand a fighting chance against MAC.

    Good Review +3

    Here's another nifty little trick.

If you roll over a minimized iTunes window you get a little control pad for playing music.

They actually won't let you use the same cd key. In order to register it, you have to connect to the microsoft website and they will automatically know which key you used. They have a record of all the keys and they will know which ones were used more than once, and they will not let you complete the registration. There are cd key generators that you can use though, but I don't know how well they work.

I don't play Doom online.... I fail too hard at it. As for the original Doom. It isn't compatible with Windows 7 or Vista even. But yeah. I play Doom every now and then.

Can i just say something? Get rid of that f**king HP Advisor s*!t at the top of your screen. They are pointless on windows. All they really say is that the Mac dock system of having your favorite apps on works really well, and because its an addition to windows explorer, it just slows the computer down. And gets in the way.

I uninstalled all that shit a long time ago. In fact both of my computers are much cleaner now... all I have on my two computers is the toolbar and the recycle bin.

great. i really hate it when manufacturers think they can make things better, but really they slow the shit down.

The only thing different manufacturers do is put their own advertisements on the computer. If you buy a computer from Dell... All they'll do is slap the same OS in the same format and add their own shit to waste hard disk space. Same thing from any other company. ESPECIALLY HP.

yeah, sorry for being a macfag again but thats one thing i like. Macs are NEVER sold with trial software etc on them. They are installed with a full version of iLife, and you can optionally have iWork, MS Office or other popular programs pre-installed, but there are NEVER offers or trials that come with them (like a shitty 60-day MS Office trial most computers seem to come with)

yes but the thing with alienware is its so fast because of an extreme amount of hardware. the truth is, windows uses alot oh hardware compared to mac and linux. This computer is as slow as hell on windows 7, but runs so smooth on ubuntu
