Yes, there are times where you can save a lot. For example, NEVER upgrade RAM at purchase. Just buy lowest spec ram and upgrade it yourself. It is like 5 times cheaper that way.

If you want a nice reliable computer, i would suggest a Mac. If you want to do games, put windows on it. If you want to do hardcore gaming then get a PC.
i bought a mac laptop, i 100% agree you're paying for brand name, but its a brand name that wants quality. Mac's are very well built and apple does a very good job of making strong and secure products and hardware. if you want something sturdy and polished, get a mac. if you want the most bang for your buck and customizability, go elsewhere
+3 for all extremely good points. I commend you good sir for pointing out all the reasons why I refuse to buy a Mac. Now, impress me more and tell me why you shouldn't get an ORIGIN Desktop PC, but you should get an ORIGIN Gaming Laptop.
