In the first pic the screws do seem silver coloured and in the second pic brass coloured. The cpu fan seems to be the intel LGA775 . Thats 775 pins and suggests it's an intel core 2 duo or above processor. The pins in the second pic suggest it's using the pins on the motherboard not pins on the processor system that intel recently brought out to cut back on returns on bent pins. The fact that the fan is designed for the board as can be shown by the screw holes in the right place says it's the right fan on the right board but he decided to use super long wood-screws when he lost the others .The amazing fact that a person who can install a cpu fan also didn't understand that driving screws through the motherboard would kill it staggers me .
that just hilarious. you're right, it does look like a socket LGA775. i don't think i want to know where they got that idea from, though. lol
Poor poor motherboard D:
just like what my mom did to her PC i had to go in and fix it and some how i still dont know how but the fan came lose cuz she turned it on when i was looking at it (stupid blondes, thank god i got my dads brown hair >> but im glad i got my moms great body) ((Yeah im a girl i know -_-)) anyway it came out and cut the top of my bob and now i have a huge scar >.<
anyway, im just popping in the say whoever did that is a fucking retard and u should burn in a vista filled hell >>

I bet there's a funny story to go along with the telling picture.

Well I'd say you need a new motherboard.
I usually buy computer parts and assemble a PC myself. But my first PC was a real disaster. I bought intel supported mother board and AMD athlon processor. Guess did it fit? I almost ended up crashing the motherboard. Well, lesson learned - you need matching processor for the motherboard. Not doing the research before assembling a PC, that's how these things happen.
He actually punctured his motherboard, severing several vital circuits. It's kind of like nailing a backpack with 2-foot stakes to someone's back and wondering why they just died.
I think he wanted to install a cooler that is for another type of socket..it doesn't fit .... so he made it fit...i saw a picture where a guy cut the pins of a video card because it didn't fit the video socket .... STUPID IDIOT DUMBASS...
no he didn't he sucks.. screw you ew1090 you narcissistic rectum hole

the conversation that most likely occurred between him and "tech support"..."I'm sorry sir, but it cant possibly be OUR hardware, please contact your software vendor for support"....
