Unlike many 'artists' and 'bands' these days, these guys actually raise valid and meaningful issues from society today.
Their new video for the song 'Make it Stop (Septembers Children)' really hit me in the same way the video for 'Ready to Fall' did. Things like this are happening everyday which shouldn't be allowed to happen. Two of my mates are gay, and I wouldn't change them for the world. I used to be bullied, maybe not homophobic bullying, but I know how much it can crush you in every way possible, it's taken a long time for me to get my confidence back, but as they say it does get better and we need to be the ones to help. It's something the people of today need educating about, and I for one love Rise Against even more so for being the ones to do it.
It's not a decision for them, so don't ridicule them.

it's video's like these that make me respect and admire this band more than any other. they have true heart and their music speaks for those to shy to speak for themselves. they inspire people everyday. I hope they never change and their message spreads for all to hear. please spread the word by posting this on facebook.

I don't always listen to punk but when I do I prefer Rise against, also which one of their albums is worth picking up the most, I may buy one when I get the cash.

I recommend Siren Song of the Counter Culture, however, most other people will recommend The Sufferer and the Witness.

But I love all their albums, and if you're only just getting into them, I'd go with this album, Endgame.

Ive know about them and listen to them for a while, my taste in music has changed since I first found them(mostly death metal at this point) so I haven't listened to all their material.
Ill be sure to pick up Endgame next time im at F.Y.E or BestBuy.

Brilliant, you won't regret it. It's an excellent album kind of a cross between Siren Song and the Sufferer and the Witness.

i'd definitely say sufferer and the witness and endgame are my favorites, barely above revolutions per minute, the unraveling and appeal to reason.

The only problem i have with these guys is they support PETA which i think is a waste of money and overall a waste of a charity organization apart from that i love the fact that they are one of the few famous bands these days that actually make songs about important stuff not bullshit like the stuff they have

Revolutions per minute is my favourite punk album of all time. I still listen to it heaps. If you like Rise Against, I highly recommend Set Your Goals. Their new album; "This will be the death of us" is awesome.

We love Rise Against in general, we don't think we have to give any reasoning for it either, they are a great band and the music is fantastic. In particular Survivor Guilt on the album Endgame struck us with the quotes from Catch 22. That has become one of our favorite songs of all time.

I love Rise Against as well and have done for a long time, I just thought it'd be necessary to spread the word of this song because it's such a strong one I felt people needed to see it.

I have to say my favourite song is probably Swing Life Away or My Life Inside Your Heart.

Swing Life Away would have been our favorite, but Natu had a privileged childhood so it seems unfitting to us. We think it might have been Rise Against, we're not entirely sure. But the one other song that comes to mind is Hero of War.

Yeah Hero of War is theirs. Off the album Appeal to Reason. I feel Swing Life Away doesn't necessarily represent a bad life more of a life well lived with being able to achieve what you want. But that's just the way I see it :)

Guys, no homo but the pure emotion and pain coming out of this song made me tear up especially when Tim was sitting there calling out names of the victims of suicide. It's a terrible thing when people are pushed to that point.

If you're not moved by that song and what it means, then you're not right. I was pretty much in tears watching that, and I ain't afraid to admit it. I was the same with the Ready to Fall video. No-one should be made to feel like they're not worthy to live by any other human no matter what.

So yeah SuDoku, I was watching that video again today and looked at the comments, and was horribly shocked by what I read. And I thought I should share it with you lot.

@jonnyfumbal what they are going through is called LIFE. and just cuz they cant "find a place in todays society" it means they should kill themselves? HAHAHAH i laugh at something that stupid.

@C3Rl3 dude you don't understand what they're thinking and going through. Me neither. but at least i don't spit this bullshit around like you, a young life ending is sad and unnecessary but a lot of kids can't find a place in todays society.

So better shut the fuck up

I know, they disgust me hugely. My friend tried to commit suicide before by hanging himself but he failed because he was being bullied for being gay. He told me that I helped him through it and made him happy again.

I know I've done it here too, but I think this is too much about how people feel about Rise Against. Amazing band yes, but the important thing is the Its Gets Better Project. Donate what you can, get a t-shirt or book, whatever. The best thing to be done is to spread the word, because word-of-mouth multiplies exponentially. Most of all, stick up for gays or perceived gays anywhere you see, and give them some hope. When you're considering suicide, I know personally it does heaps when somebody else is there helping you. This is a cause too damn worthy to ignore. Sharenators, go!

i get the biggest chills when i hear tim reading the names at the end of the kids who killed themselves it really hits home how cruel people can be to others...rise against is doing good in this world they are trying to stop the meaningless violence the meaningless hurt that people inflict on others i pray that one day all they fight for will come to fruition until then i pray they spread the message of hope through their music and that people stand up and take notice

The one name at the end always gets me, Seth Walsh. How a 13 year old can feel they have nothing to live for is terrible.. Even 18 is too young, but 13... What has to be done to drive a 13 year old to not want to live anymore...?

Dude... I really hope those people got what they deserved, you certainly don't seem to deserve any stick you got. I was bullied when I first started high school, not physical but picked on so my confidence was crushed. I've got a lot of it back, but I'm still waaay shy when it comes to meeting new people. I'd hate to think how bad it must be that I'd want to end my life. The worst I wanted to do was leave and go to a new school..
