Once you've read the last book, you'll realise how terrible both parts of the movie were, especially the second part.

Started in 87, series of movies about a magic puzzle box which unleashes BDSM demons to torture people to death... Or as they put it, "We will show you pleasures you never thought could exist."
Yeah... some freaky scenes but mostly blood guts and ripping people apart with lots of hooks on chains. So yeah, maybe not for you. :) But me likey.

if i was to pick my absolute favourite film, it would be a very difficult choice between John Carpenter's The Thing and Shaun of the Dead.

Shaun of the dead,Moon,Pans Labyrinth, Inception, Spirited Away.
Its an anime(I am by no means a big fan of anime) film which may be why you don't care for it, Lots of people like it. Ill link some reviews.
