Most missles can be fooled by flares or some other form of counter-measure, nothing has ever been invented to stop a bird attack. The pilot should be happy it didn't hit the glass on the cockpit.

Actually our host body (Natu) wanted to be a pilot when she was young, so she learned about that from personal research before getting kicked out of High School.

is that plane made from hay on the inside???

Fiberglass, because it's strong and invisible to radar, and the nosecone of most planes is where it's radar equipment is housed.

It would seem that the impact of the jet hitting the bird was enough to splinter the fiberglass into it's individual strains, which are very flexible.
