WAR

Thought i'd start a chat to see what you all believe.

Personally i'm indifferent, I agree that things need to be done at certain times but i don't agree with how they've been done up until now. There is so much that is kept from people regarding the wars. If you look into it abit, including the current one, i think you'll be pretty disgusted. I wont post links though as it's your choice what you believe.

But then, i'm going to say against it. Just so I can say the phrase 'bombing for peace is like fucking for virginity'

    I’m going to be getting deployed pretty soon to Afghanistan.
    and if I have to kill the bad guys to help rid the world of evil, then i wont loose a minute of sleep. those little bastards would cut the heads off of me, you, and all of our families.
    Don’t let the media convince you that were the bad guys and we need to just leave them all alone. that’s bull shit. every terrorist over there has the potential to fuck our shit up. so "Praise the Lord and Pass the ammunition". instead of bitching like a fucking woman. you should enlist in the military for a few years join the fight for Good.

    Imagine this scenario Diego;

    A couple of guys from the United States head over to China and take down a skyscraper and kill 3000+ people. China responds with military force on U.S. soil. Our military is spread thin elsewhere in the world and our Govenment is weak and economically unable to defend and allows the Chinese to assume police power here in the U.S.. They proceed with martial law and door to door searches, gun grabs and food rationing. Those that oppose this show of force and occupation stand up to the Chinese, only to be lumped in with the "terrorists" they are searching for and hunted down with equal force even if they are peacefully protesting the occupation. The local governments have no choice due threats of removal or death but to appease the occupiers . What side would you be on Diego? Would China be right in performing these actions? Is it not fair to say that those that oppose these actions are merely trying to defend their homes, rights and families from tyranny? Would you defend your family and rights from such activity? How do you know the people you are ordered to kill aren't doing just that?

    You took an oath to the Constitution of the United States right? At what point did the "terrorists" threaten our Constitution? What parts of the Constitution have been taken by these "terrorists". It seems to me that when the "terrorists" struck it was our own government that attacked the Constitution in the aftermath. What about Vietnam? Korea? Bosnia? Iraq x 2? Where were the threats to the Constitution from those countries? Why did Americans have to die in those places?

    I am in no way trying to discredit your dedication to the Oath you've taken but your statement seems immature and misguided. There are lies being told to American citizens and American military personnel that would BLOW YOUR MIND if you knew of them. The wars that have been fought under the guise of spreading democracy, lifting oppression, hunting terrorists, looking for WMDs and nukes are nothing more than the continuation of an imperialist ideology put forth by people not elected to any level of government and only care about money, resources and or strategic placement for expanding their empires. You and I are merely pawns in a giant board game, metaphorically speaking of course.

    It should concern you that you run the risk of getting killed for nothing more than someone trying to increase profit share. It should also concern you that when and if you return home the Department of Homeland Security (Quite the Imperialistic name eh?) will have you targeted as a potential terrorist and is pushing for legislation to have you evaluated to see if you should be allowed access to the 2nd amendment. It should concern you that if you return injured your access to quality health care through the VA is null and void and will be given the bare minimum care necessary unless you can afford to pay for better health care outside the VA.

    You sound young and uninformed as was I when I served in the military. As I got older I began to see and understand the bigger picture and chose not to reenlist because of it. I fortunately was not deployed to any combat zones and still take my oath very seriously.

    Do I sound like a bitchy woman Diego?

    There is real war and manufactured war and the latter we can do without. The real war is when the oppressed stand up to the oppressors. Manufactured war exists for the sole purpose of special interests and expanding oppression. Without manufactured war, real war would be unnecessary.

    I wish you no harm and hope that you aren't put into a situation where killing is necessary or a friend is killed or injured. My thoughts are with you while you are deployed and look forward to hearing your thoughts on this issue when you return.

    Saint Michael the Archangel,
    defend us in battle;
    be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
    May God rebuke him, we humbly pray:
    and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
    by the power of God,
    thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
    who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
    Amen

    Thank you for your service jojopumpkin. I enjoyed reading that, it was good and if that did indeed happen it would not be an easy choice to make. Im no crazy cowboy gunslinger that wants to take some lives, quite the opposite in fact. But there are alot of evil people over there you cant dispute that. they have suicide bombers taking out innocent people every day. and blowing up our brothers, cousins, and fathers that serve over seas. there is right and there is wrong. good and evil.
    if I was walking down the street in Afghanistan a terrorist would try and kill me. but say Muslim was walking down the street in my hometown, id wave at him. hell i might even say good morning.
    I assure you I am not a mindless robot soldier that believes everything i hear. I’m a medic. im getting deployed to take care of those who serve. and treat wounds as they happen.
    And when I get out in a few years im sure I can take care of myself. I don’t need VA benefits. I agree with most of what your saying though. You just seem naïve to what kind of people were dealing with.

    war is a neccessary evil. you cannot have love without hate, good without evil, etc... If we do not evil to compare good to, then everything is evil. The same is true about war and peace.

    You cannot have peace without war... it will never happen... when the world is finally at peace, someone will rise to power in some third world country and screw everything up... It's just natural balance.... you can't have one without the other... I'm gonna throw a little science in here... Earth is constantly trying to balance out the temperature... the hottest point... being the equator, and the coldest being the poles, the earth is trying to diffuse the hot air and cold air together to make one universal temperature across the world... this is what causes hurricanes... That is not really the best metaphor, but it just goes to say that everything naturally tries to balance itself out. War will always be a part of history and it will continue to add more history in the future. I don't necessarily like the idea of war, but I will support anyone who goes to fight in a war to defend this country. God bless them and all their families. They deserve all of the support that we can give.

    when the rich wage war its the poor who die. but i still think that war is nessesary, but the cold war was pretty much about ego, since nobody did anything. and we can thank Dr.Manhatten for that.

    I believe starting a war is absolutely wrong, even for vengeance. Actually, especially for vengeance. However, once a country begins attacking yours, there is nothing wrong with fighting back - but only as much as is actually necessary for self-defense. I would commend my own country's defensive actions against terrorism if not for the fact that it seems to have gone overboard with these actions.

    You don't need VA benefits? You know VA covers health care and mental health, montgomery GI bill/ post 911 bill, helps with unemployment pay, depending on what state: collage for your kids, and tax exemptions. So if you don't want your benefits what the hell are you doing this for the male bonding experience?
