Top 5 Video Game Heroes and Villains of 2000 Decade.

This actually took me a long time to make. Simply because I didn't wanna pick the REALLY simple ones like..Kratos, Master Chief, The Covenant, etc. These are in no specific order. And these are simply ones from games that I have played in the 2000 decade. I thought this would be a fun post, so here it goes.

Warning: If you have not played any of these games, some of the villains may come as somewhat of a spoiler.

1. The Hero from the Fable series.
Reason: The awesome customization that comes from the gamer's choice.
fabledog - top 5 video game heroes and villains of 2000 decade.

2. Auron from Final Fantasy 10.
Reason: He makes a promise to a friend, and sticks to matter the cost.
auron - top 5 video game heroes and villains of 2000 decade.

3. Ratchet and Clank
Reason: They have badass weapons and gear. Plain and simple.
ratchet and clank

4. Carl Johnson from GTA: San Andreas
Reason: He keeps his homies at heart and doesn't let anybody f**k with him.
cj - top 5 video game heroes and villains of 2000 decade.

5. Toan from Dark Cloud.
Reason: He was put in charge of completing a HUGE task, and pulled it off without flaw.
toan - top 5 video game heroes and villains of 2000 decade.

1. Seymour Guado from Final Fantasy 10.
Reason: He was a sadistic being set on destruction and power. Plus his haircut scared me.
seymour guado

2. General Shepherd from Modern Warfare 2
Reason: He was just a straight up dick and ends up killing everybody's favorite character towards the end.
Shepherd MW2

3. The Prophets from Halo
Reason: Nobody liked them, haha. They were evil tricksters.
prophets - top 5 video game heroes and villains of 2000 decade.

4. The Darkness or Crawler from Fable 3
Reason: A being bent on destruction for no rhyme or reason, just wanted to see Albion burn.
Fable3 Aurora walter consumedbydarkness

5. Darth Malak from Star Wars: KOTOR
Reason: He was an evil sith lord who (again like most baddies) is bent on power and domination.
malak - top 5 video game heroes and villains of 2000 decade.

Well guys that was my top 5, please feel free to give me your top 5 heroes and villians of the 2000 decade in the comments. and if I get enough points from this I'll make another list.

Niko Bellic is the greatest GTA antagonist of all time IMO. The characterisation in that game was epic.

    HEY NIKO! Let's go bowling!
    - CrazyJay February 20, 2011, 12:55 pm
As you're flying a helicopter around the city, pick Roman up in it, go bowling/drinking, try to fly a helicopter drunk, crash and burn...
    - tbart2010 February 20, 2011, 7:17 pm
Then refuse to pick him up from the hospital...
    - CrazyJay February 21, 2011, 6:29 am
And then ignore his calls from there on out
    - tbart2010 February 21, 2011, 7:01 am
Then call him for a cab. "You're my cousin Niko! How could I refuse? There is a cab on its way."
    - CrazyJay February 21, 2011, 7:09 am
Blow up the taxi when it gets there. call for another one.

    A few things:

The crawler from fable was a joke. One of the most disappointing boss fights in recent memory. If you want a fable baddie, go with Jack of Blades. He was a BAMF by comparison.

    Where is Commander Shepard?

Even if you didn't want to throw the chief in, I think Noble 6 deserves a spot.

Captain Price, the best wing man you could ask for...and he's not here.

The prophets huh? They aren't even intimidating villains, hell, they look more like deformed versions of the burger king.

    That is all.

The Gravemind should be on the list instead of the Prophets.
    - Ertrov February 20, 2011, 1:32 pm
The crawler: May not be a hard boss, or even all that intimidating by boss standards..but he was creepy as fuck.

Commander Shepard: Never played Mass Effect so I wouldn't know.

Noble 6: I played Halo Reach for about a day then took it back.

Captain Price: There were so many different "heroes" in MW2 I couldn't even tell you which one he was, also, i didn't play MW1

The Prophets: Whether or not they were intimidating, they were absolute evil.

    Anything else?
    - Vehemence February 20, 2011, 1:37 pm
    The Crawler: Was not creepy.

    Shepard: Play it.

Noble 6: What is wrong with you?!

    Captain Price: Then play MW1....

The Prophets: Only Truth was really all that evil.
    - Ertrov February 20, 2011, 1:47 pm
    The Crawler: Yeah ok..

Shepard: Not a big fan of games such as that.

    Noble 6: I didn't care for it.

Captain Price: I could, and I still wouldn't know which one he was.

The Prophets: That's why Truth is in the picture.
    - Vehemence February 20, 2011, 1:50 pm
    Shepard: Fail.

Captain Price: Trust me, you'd know.

Prophets: Never said he was a good choice, just better than all the other Prophets.

you included the prophets as villians.. but jack of blades?!?! He murderd your dad, enslaved your mother, stabbed your sisters eyes out and turned you master against you. Prophets sat in floaty chairs.
    Jack 1: Prophets 0.

Truthfully i can think of alot of heros... but one stands out to me alot... and im probally going to get laughed at but... hes Lucas from Mother 3. he lost his mother at 9 years old and his twin brother the next day. 3 years later he has to leave home and fight countless enemies only to find out the one he needs to stop is his twin brother...

I think i would have put Cloud from final fantasy the dude was badass.

Well Cloud was from FF7..which came out in 1997..
    - Vehemence February 20, 2011, 8:39 am
OHHH lol i just recently got into that game series so I didn't know. My mistake.
    - 24paperwings February 20, 2011, 8:41 am
haha it's all good..but cloud would be on my top 20 year heroes would sephiroth be on my top villians of the past 20 years.
    - Vehemence February 20, 2011, 8:44 am
Yea I defiantly wold have them both up there.
    - 24paperwings February 20, 2011, 8:52 am
But at least you picked the most Badass character from FFX
    - imfrikknbad February 20, 2011, 6:26 pm
haha yeah, he's one of my favorite in the game, but i think he was my top hero cuz he actually stood for something and kept a promise to his friends.
    - Vehemence February 20, 2011, 7:02 pm

Just found this on youtube its actually a pretty sick video.

Every Fable game has a different hero though....

    • Ertrov
    • February 20, 2011, 9:28 am
yeah, but it's still the same basic get to control the life of that character, so really the hero is you..........yeah....i just blew your mind didn't i? haha
    - Vehemence February 20, 2011, 11:11 am
Yes, but that's the same for almost every RPG.
    - Ertrov February 20, 2011, 11:12 am
eh..not really..cuz on Fable, the level of customization is absolutely incredible.
    - Vehemence February 20, 2011, 11:20 am
Are you kidding? Fable has hardly any customization. Play Oblivion, or Dragon Age, then you'lll see that Fable is incredibly streamlined, with hardly any options for character development.
    - Ertrov February 20, 2011, 11:28 am
Thank you. The only "customizable" thing about fable was the morality system (which KOTOR did first.)
    - CrazyJay February 20, 2011, 12:43 pm
well maybe not the first has clothing, weaponry, you could customize your home..but Fable 3 was pretty good.
    - Vehemence February 20, 2011, 1:26 pm
Ugh, Fable 3 was the least of all of them. It wasn't even an RPG. Seriously, play Oblivion, you don't know what you're missing if you think Fable has customization.
    - Ertrov February 20, 2011, 1:31 pm
Hey. I like Fable ok? haha
    - Vehemence February 20, 2011, 1:39 pm
I like Fable 2. I'm just saying it's not really an RPG due to the lack of customization.
    - Ertrov February 20, 2011, 3:54 pm
I thought it had pretty good customization.
    - Vehemence February 20, 2011, 4:01 pm
Not really. You couldn't even alter your character's facial features.

I hope you don't get mad, but i think i am going to make one of these on a scale of 10. it will go from 10-1 in order of the good heroes to the best heroes. and same for villans, this is a good post don't get me wrong, but it didn't tickle my fancy, i hope you know when i make the post i am not copying your idea, i am using it to fit my needs, plus i will give you 50% credit.
