I love the military, and everything they do for America. They are the people who risk their lives to protect ours, and yet there are still people who spit on them because they are too ignorant to understand that there are only a few bad eggs out of the whole military. I hate it when people try to cite historical events that make America look bad. They don't realize that that is only a small fraction of everything that actually did happen. The media never tells you about how one marine stayed behind to help save hundreds of people. They only talk about how one guy murdered all of two Iraqi people. I'm not saying that he/she should've done that, but the news is more concerned with turning us against the military rather than to support them. Even though they have side programs that say support the military. I give all of my respect and appreciation to anyone who joins any branch of military. Hopefully the rest of the world can find some way to understand what exactly the military does for them, and then they can learn to support or rather join the cause.
I support everyone that chooses to serve in the military. I do not support the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
I support and respect all services. I honestly thank every service man or woman I meet. Yes some conflicts are that of a conflict of interest for those serving and us here in the states but regardless I do support and love them all. Please be safe and do a badass job. :) +3, awesome post/topic
I am also serving asap i do agree we should fight for our freedom.
GO ARMY!
I was in the Army for 5 years. I got to travel all around the world. I have mad respect for every branch of service and support them all.
Thanks everyone.
To be quite honest, I think that military or government service should be mandatory for everyone able. About two years would be good. I know that sounds crazy to some of you, but the discipline and physical fitness would be great for most people. It helped me out in life and I think could be good for most others.
Thanks for your support.

I respect all those in the armed forces, but espicialy the marines. R.I.P Grandfather.
America was founded because brave men sacrificed their lives to have liberty. America IS the greatest country on the face of the Earth because we still have men and women fighting to preserve the freedom that our forefathers gave us. To everyone serving, I admire you and I can only hope to reach the amount of respect that you have gained from me in my field. God bless you.
I have the deepest respect for the military. I would join, but my I have too many health problems, especially with my heart. And no, I'm not a fat American, I weigh 130. Anyway, God bless America, God bless the military, and God bless Iron Man.

anytime a marine or soldier is glad that he killed a man it isn't out of some sadistic urge to kill. It is knowing that the scumbag they just killed will not have the chance to harm any more innocent civilians or their fellow servicemen/women.
im not saying that soldiers are wrong, but war is wrong. Think about the other side.
Modern combat is not fair. Every battle is one sided, every conflict is avoidable and the mercenaries and insurgents are just trying to bring home the bacon. Vietnam accomplished nothing, nor has the war in iraq or afghanistan

So removing a dictator who gassed and tortured hundreds of thousands of people for over a decade is really nothing to accomplish...
I'm sure you wouldn't be singing the same tune if a member of your family died in the Twin Towers, or got blown up in NYC with the bombing plot that surfaced. Cause, you know, insurgents and Al Qaeda is just deliberately planning attacks on American soil on American civilians to bring home the bacon.
EDIT: Oh right, just found out you live in London. Well, you really don't have shit to complain about. Guarantee if another Muslim extremist blows up another British subway then your country would be screaming for blood too.

Also wether or not if we should have been in Vietnam we shouldn't have left. When we left it just said "fuck you" to all the troops who died there.
And there were connections between Iraq and al-Queda. If you would like I'll cite those sources.
Just make sure you hit reply on my comment so I don't leave you hanging.

As for the comment of "those who are proud to kill", you have it all wrong. I will be deploying for the first time soon, so I can not give my point of view, but I can honestly say, that every soldier and Marine out there who has had to kill, ranging from every deployed Marine, to even my own father, who is still in the Marines, does not ENJOY killing.
No one enjoys taking a life, but they all understand that if someone is shooting them, then we are going to shoot back to protect the man to the left and right of us. So to say that we are there, slaying bodies, is ridiculous, but hey, we're fighting for your free speech, so say whatever the hell you want.
