Today, we had to put our dog of 11 years down... We found out a week ago that he had cancer, and that he didn't have long to live. His name was Oreo(because he was black and white). He was in a lot of pain from the cancer, there was a tumor on his jaw that grew and moved up his face. I was at work while my dad took him to the vet to have him put down.

I just wanted to SHARE this with you all.

No need to +3, +2, or +1 or anything, that's not what this is for.

your not the only one my dog had to be put down because she was hit by a car a few weeks ago. It hurts i know, but if you think about it this way you can now get a new one a puppy and name in his honor, thats what I have done. I am going to pick him up on march 14th :')

That's very true, he was in a lot of pain before. He went peacefully so that's good.

Thanks man. Like I said, I was at work when he was put down, so I didn't know until afterwards, so that kind of made it worse.

I still shed a manly tear for my fuzzy buddy who passed a few years back from kidney failure. Just remember those good times and it will be alright. :)

put my dog down a year ago, just got a new one chihuahua mixed with terrier, old owners ditched in a box on the side of the road, saved him from the shelter. so cute, little twitchy tho (as expected from an abused animal) feels good to save an animal.

I used to have a chihuahua, we saved her while my mom was going to work. She was on the back roads, extremely dirty. My mom picked her up, and looked in the papers and on poles for anyone missing a dog, nothing came up, so we kept her. Named her Trixie, she was an amazing dog. It was an extremely sad day when we found out that she died though.. But I still think about the good times we've had with her

    Just remember this:

The point of life is to find happiness

Dogs die quicker than humans because they find hapiness quicker than we do

Thus, your dog is happy. You did a good deed.

Stay strong and do as your dog did: Be Happy

My dog was thrown by a tornado. He lived (somehow) but snot 2 months later he was ran over. My only thoughts then were, " well damn."... He was the oldest and most kindhearted dog I ever had

That's really sad :( Oreo was a really good dog, always could make me smile or laugh. He would walk over to me and use his head to lift my hand up so I could rub his back, and when I would stop, he'd use his head again to get me to rub his back again
