I just found out the truth about Cleverbot and now I'm sad. :(

While you chat to the so called "cleverbot" the only thing that is happening is that you are talking to other users. You only talk to one person for about a few texts, then they change it, which is why you will get such random conversations. It's also probably why Cleverbot is always insisting that it is human.
I got cleverbot to admit the truth to me.

the term "the cake is a lie" was made famous by portal but was originally used in porn
so wait, its not really an AI, just multiple people?! thats false though. its an AI. because if you keep asking it "whats your gamertag" sometimes it responded "matt15847 PM me LOL" and i got 5 msgs on xbox live saying "sup cleverbot" so it does use AI. lol
Really people? Hhhh... Cleverbot is in fact an AI. How it works is it takes input, then catalogs it in a database. Once it has compiled this information, it searches for the most commonly or highly common response to the input. If it does not have a usable response, it will spit out a random input, thus the "random" conversations. That is why if you type in a common phrase and expect a response, the most common response will vary in spelling and capitalization. I could go on about the finesse and interworkings of AI's, but that would take forever. Keep your hopes up. He is an AI, just not how most people think of an AI.
