Once it has compiled this information, it searches for the most commonly or highly common response to the input. If it does not have a usable response, it will spit out a random input, thus the "random" conversations. That is why if you type in a common phrase and expect a response, the most common response will vary in spelling and capitalization. I could go on about the finesse and interworkings of AI's, but that would take forever. Keep your hopes up. He is an AI, just not how most people think of an AI.

You only talk to one person for about a few texts, then they change it, which is why you will get such random conversations. It's also probably why Cleverbot is always insisting that it is human.-

At the top it says how many people are talking, and every time it goes up or down you get the random conversation. That is because it "Bumps" everyone to someone new. There is no cleverbot. the cleverness is from the makers of CleverBot. Most people still believe that it IS an AI, but you are most definitely talking to other people.
