too bad there all reaching for some BACON!!!!
For alternative modern-day lyrics, look at Coldplay's Viva La Vida, or almost any song by Switchfoot. Much better. :)
Any other good examples, anyone?
Any other good examples, anyone?
Warm yourself by the fire, son,
And the morning will come soon.
I’ll tell you stories of a better time,
In a place that we once knew.
Before we packed our bags
And left all this behind us in the dust,
We had a place that we could call home,
And a life no one could touch.
Don’t hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don’t need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!
Don’t hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don’t need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!
Down!
We are the angry and the desperate,
The hungry, and the cold,
We are the ones who kept quiet,
And always did what we were told.
But we’ve been sweating while you slept so calm,
In the safety of your home.
We’ve been pulling out the nails that hold up
Everything you’ve known.
Don’t hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don’t need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!
Don’t hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don’t need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!
So open your eyes child,
Let’s be on our way.
Broken windows and ashes
Are guiding the way.
Keep quiet no longer,
We’ll sing through the day,
Of the lives that we’ve lost,
And the lives we’ve reclaimed.
Go!
Don’t hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don’t need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!
Don’t hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don’t need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!
Don’t hold me up…
(I don’t need your help, I’ll stand my ground)
Don’t hold me up…
(I don’t need your help)
No! No! No!
Don’t hold me up!

Sorry to correct you, but you might like the actual lyrics a bit better anyway:
"We were meant to live for so much more! Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside..."
"We were meant to live for so much more! Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside..."
skillet is really good same with hollywood undead. rise against is by far my favorite band though
That's just mainstream shit from the radio, artists like foo fighters, coldplay, The libertines, kasabian etc... still keep it alive it just takes effort to see past shit Flower Sniffin', Kitty Pettin', Baby Kissin' Corporate Rock Whores that are on the radio all of the time!
I'm ganna have to say their are some good bands that may seem like their talking shit but if you listen to the actual meaning, its good stuff.
even the greatest foods turn to shit in the end
it's horrifying for the people that actually admire the lyrics in a song, to look at this & think that someone thinks this is music.
This is music damn fools!
Back in black
I hit the sack
I've been too long I'm glad to be back
Yes I'm, let loose
From the noose
That's kept me hanging about
I keep looking at the sky
'Cause it's gettin' me high
Forget the herse 'cause I'll never die
I got nine lives
Cat's eyes
Usin' every one of them and running wild
'Cause I'm back
Yes, I'm back
Well, I'm back
Yes, I'm back
Well, I'm back, back
(Well) I'm back in black
Yes, I'm back in black
Back in the back
Of a Cadillac
Number one with a bullet, I'm a power pack
Yes, I'm in a bang
With a gang
They've got to catch me if they want me to hang
Cause I'm back on the track
And I'm leadin' the pack
Nobody's gonna get me on another rap
So look at me now
I'm just makin' my play
Don't try to push your luck, just get out of my way
'Cause I'm back
Yes, I'm back
Well, I'm back
Yes, I'm back
Well, I'm back, back
(Well) I'm back in black
Yes, I'm back in black
Well, I'm back, Yes I'm back
Well, I'm back, Yes I'm back
Well, I'm back, back
Well I'm back in black
Yes I'm back in black
Hooo yeah
Ohh yeah
Yes I am
Oooh yeah, yeah Oh yeah
Back in now
Well I'm back, I'm back
Back, I'm back
Back, I'm back
Back, I'm back
Back, I'm back
Back
Back in black
Yes I'm back in black
Outta sight

"REPRESSED" by Zao
lies, deprication of self.
moral demise.
the corporate machine of america.
"in god we trust"
statement of political banter.
plastic words for a plastic nation.
bred to live the american dream.
elderly parents in institutions.
billions of dollars for the promotion of
cutting edge abortionary practices.
prayer in schools has been replaced with condoms.
the value of quality family time has regressed
to the television's filth and sexual innuendo.
repressed.
our forefathers established this nation,
under the grace of God.
in all his provisions.
why we are so richly blessed.
our Father,
deliver us.
