Yeah, the goalkeeper went for the player not the ball, and in the process fouled the player, thus denying a goal scoring opportunity, that and because he was the last man. That's a red card.
It was a goal scoring opportunity, he was clear on goal and had beaten all the defenders. If the goalkeeper hadn't brought him down he would've scored because he would've beaten the goalkeeper.
I think it's at the referee's discretion tbh, I mean, come on, if the goalkeeper hadn't brought him down, then he's at the right angle to score, it's not like it was an incredibly tight angle where there's a high chance he'd miss. But the ref has to give the player the benefit of the doubt, and I'd say that's a red card.
