I have a motorola razr v3m from Verizon. It sucks. Verizon locked out all of the features of the phone, like if I want to add a .mp3 file to my phone and use it as a ring tone, instead of transfering it by USB (which they blocked), I have to buy it through V Cast...

Yep. They locked out the ability to transfer stuff to and from the phone. Its just another cheap way for Verizon to make some money. Alltel here I come...

I know about all of the firmware that they use, but I don't want to use anything on it that could potentially damage it. I also heard about tricking the phone into using .mp3s by doing something to the TransFlash card, but I don't have one in my phone...
