personally i think they should shut down BP i mean there has been like 3 oil spills by them i think (1977 2006 and 2010 not sure)

then bp needs to hire people who know what they are doing.

ur thanking BP for wat it has done for "U", & u said u do not crucify BP for killing a "few" whales, fish, etc.
....so my understanding of wat u said is that as long as "UR" all good & u can accomplish all ur needs the rest of the world doesn't matter.
    am I understanding this right?

thats understandable but u should still take into consideration that it is there fault that all that wildlife is getting fucked over & just for the record im saying this because u have to take both sides of the stories into consideration
p.s. I have never said anything bad about BP I know u didnt direct that at me but I'm just saying to get that out of the way.
& I give u props for standing up for BP wen everyone is giving them for dead

well I'm saying that all the wildlife dying is there fault because they are not doing much to stop it, it is true they sent a robot to close it up but then the same robot hit the cap off (I heard this on the radio) the guy said & I quote "what was that robot thinking" when they told him the robot hit the cap off personally I thought that was funny, but I wonder y they didnt just try it again?

even though bp is spending loads of money and is also doing lots to clean up (+ 3 for pic though) but bp didn't actually own the oil rig they were only leasing it and it was actually owned by Transocean so it's hard to decide who's to blame

Essentially yes. I have to eat, so I pay people to raise and kill cows to feed me. I pay people to slaughter chickens for my selfish gain. I also, in the end, pay companies like BP to use their resources to dig up oil, so we can make gas, plastics and countless other things. I don't ask BP to carelessly dig up the oil for my benefit, but I understand that no one is perfect and EVERY energy source has unintended consequences. As I stated, if BP did not follow their own rules or government regulations which led to the disaster then they should be punished according to the laws, but I don't think crucifying the company for something as far as I can tell has not yet been determined to have been caused by them is fair. The problem I have is with people who say "Fuck BP" or "They should be stopped."

Stop what, and Fuck them why? Do they know that the disaster is BP's fault. Do they have an viable alternative to oil. Can they do without two simple things like fuel and plastic. If so, I'd love to see it. If not, then what a hypocrite. That's like buying the whore and complaining she's got AIDS. There is a risk with oil. It's been there since we started using it. I'm not sure how you twisted my words to understand me saying if I can accomplish all my needs then the rest of the world doesn't matter, but I do say that in the same way the life of a cow is a small price to pay for my hunger, a few whales is a small price to pay for all oil provides. Until we live in some dream world where nothing ever dies, that just the way it is. It's called life.

Thanks, not to be rude, but where has anyone admitted that it's their fault. The cause has yet to be determined as far as I can tell.

I haven't seen any article saying anyone is at fault. The only thing I have seen is speculation stating that BP or at least the people running the rig didn't cap the well right or according to their own standards or something like that. However it didn't say that was the cause of the failure.

I'm not saying that we should blame the Americans in charge, just simply lessen the blow on BP which will affect a lot of British share-holders and definately NOT help the economy to recover.

As far as I can tell no one really has determined what caused the disaster. I have heard reports of BP not following their own procedure when capping the well, but as far as I can tell, that hasn't been determined as the cause. So before we crucify BP, I want to thank them. I love my car that I drive around everyday that gets me to work, and allows me to earn a living to pay for college, and my wife and my future child. I use that car to get to the store to buy food, which is why I am a little overweight. If I walked I might be thinner. I thank BP for the fuel that planes use to fly me around to visit my family and see amazing places around the USA. I didn't do my homework, but I imagine that the oil BP gets out of the ground is used to produce plastics that I use to store my food, protect my goods, maybe even the computer keys I am typing on were derived from oil once found a mile under the sea. So BP, thank you, thank you very much. There are countless things I owe to you and that wonderful black goodness you dig up. Now I am saddened about the disaster and I hope you do all you can to clean it up. If you didn't follow one of your own rules or one of the many set by the government, then shame on you and you should be punished accordingly. However, I do not crucify you for killing a few whales, fish, dolphins, birds, etc. It's the price we pay for the black goodness you harvest. Keep at it. I am sure all those fishermen in the gulf are pissed because they might be out of work. Next time the complain just tell them try to go harvest shrimp with a rowboat. And maybe if the liberals let us drill ON LAND we would be able to clean up things easier when they go wrong.

Whoa, I know BP is a British company and as such they shoudl take responsability but...
It was an American wing of the company.
The derrick was run and organised by Americans.
    Americans caused the spill.
But because it's a British company, they get blamed. Cheers, Barrack Hussein Obama.

you said it, its a brit company. a brit company fucked up the gulf.
