Now his powers are never mentioned ,but he is the head of the Superman Dynasty. I'm my opinion both characters have a chance of beating one another under various circumstances. The issue I'm finding most common among the comments is that people tend to uses phrases such as "Super-saiyan" and "Super-man" in which they are attempting to prove that a Saiyan is greater than a man, super or not. Even though it is true that a Saiyan is more powerful than a human, the faultiness here is that Superman is not a man but a Krytontian. It is very probable that Kryptonians would give the Saiyans a challenge. Also in term of energy usage the original Superman most commonly uses his heat vision which has been powerful enough to heat the entire planet Earth and Goku's Kamahamaha to destroy an entire planet. To sum it all up, both characters are extremely powerful, it's just ,however, people tend to undermine Superman's abilities. This is only the tip of the iceberg for both characters.
If Goku wins, then Superman becomes his friend 10 episodes later.
If Superman wins, then Goku comes back every season for 50 years and tries a new strategy.
It took like a dozen episodes JUST for 5 minutes of Frieza VS. Goku to go by... quite a long wait... but still epic.
Of course it's from DBAF which we all know is fan made but still. He's in mugen.

For those who haven't seen the movie, I shall try my best to describe the seen.
Lex Luthor has a plan to launch two different missiles to the two opposite ends of the U.S. Superman has set out to stop both of these missiles before they impact. He goes after the one headed for the eastern hemisphere first, and by the time he finally gets that one pushed out into space, the other one has already impact the San Andres fault line in San Fran. After the impact, Superman attempts to correct all the things that are happening as a result of the explosion. He reset's the fault line, builds a make-shift damn, so on so forth. However, Lois dies after being crushed by dirt when her car is forced into a large crack in the ground. Superman finally finds her and goes into a rage and flies around the world really fast to turn back time and save her.
The part that I don't understand is why he can fly around the world several times in a matter of seconds when he could only catch one missile that took several minutes to reach it's target? I sense the argument of the fact that he was impaired by kryptonite before he set off, but even still. The scene of him chasing the missile is still a relatively decent amount of time in which, according to the part where he flies around the world, he could have stopped both missiles with plenty of time to spare.
This little paradox has been bothering me since God knows when. If someone has a logical explanation that actually makes sense, I'd love to hear it.

Goku uses instant transmission to go to krypton, grab some of that green shit, then instantly transports right in supermans face, shoves kryptonite up his ass, then Kamehamehas him right into an empty shallow grave. He then smiles, gives a japanese peace sign, and burns the american flag. The End.
