Burn the anti-nerd, more like. Nerdy-ness is awesome
Captain Solo vs Captain Kirk, who will win, and will we ever know?
But then in the re-mastered version KIRK would shoot first-- and he doesn't miss.
Darth Maul, when a padawan kicks your ass, you don't deserve to be in the sequel.

Actually he fought a Jedi-Master and a Padawan (Who was Obi-fuckin-Wan Kenobi) AT THE SAME TIME, oh and he killed Qui-Gon Jinn which reserves him a spot in the hall of badassery alone.
I think Obi-Wan used the Dark Side to beat Maul! Seriously, did he remain calm and do a Yoda-meditation before he jumped up the wall like Prince of Persia to cut Maul in half?
Sha, don't think so!

I think this dilemma can be solved with a single picture.

Hell, Star Wars pretty much has technology we can reach NOW.
I would pick starwars unless you're counting the new movies.
Yes, Kirk looks like a fag, and maybe he is, with Spock! Nevertheless, like Kradon666 says: he is the ultimate bad-ass, the kind of captain who, when served an ultimatum by an adversary, is ready to blow up his ship, the adversary's ship and a whole sector of the Galaxy rather than give in.
No, Spock never found Kirk "fascinating" in that way; this was covered in the Star Trek Motion Picture novel in fact... but then, that's NOT canon.
I loved the new Star Trek, however, my heart forever belongs to STAR WARS. Han Solo, bitches, you can't top that
I adore that movie! "You Kirk-loving Spock-suckers!!"
And then the R2-D2 on top of the van as they hit "warp speed".
"We're gonna have to break rule number 2....press the button!!"

Star Trek, definitely. The original, with Kirk, the best captain of the whole goddam fleet. I grew up watching that show, so I got a bias towards it. Didn't hook much on the following series, TNG, Deep Space 9, Voyager. When Star Wars came out I was already in my twenties and it didn't hit me as deeply as Star Trek did. I liked the movie, but not enough to watch any of the others.
Went to see all the Star Trek movies, though. And the new one, retelling the saga from the beginning, I positively loved it.

I would say that star trek is better since it has lasted all this time, george lucas pretty much ruined star wars with the prequals and bull-shit clone wars series. not only that, the original star trek series had morals and similar events to the time period like solving racism and the vietnam war (you have to really look in to them)
Two words: LASER-SWORDS. If that doesn't cut the ham&cheese, then whoever smelt it dealt it.

Star Wars has better movies (I only own ONE DVD-set: the Star Wars movies), but the first 2 seasons of the original Star Trek was a better TV series. In fact the moral seems to be that TV and movies are entirely different, and that mixing them is guaranteed to suck. As for technology, some say that that Star Trek's is way better AND more realistic... but hey, what does Stephen Hawking know about science? Likewise, Star Trek's philosphy and message for Earth's future is FAR better than Star Wars's "Use the Force!" mumbo-jumbo; also "Space Seed's" example about humans evolving as a civilization rather than as a species, was better than some garbage about "don't use the dark side!" Heck, "Arena" was better than that, when Kirk reacted in anger against the Gorn despite Spock's warnings-- but Kirk DID learn from that, in Season 1 AND Season 2; in fact Kirk makes a lot of mistakes, but he learns from his mistakes AND from wiser aliens (wiser than Yoda, too!).
It's just too bad that Star Trek's greatness didn't survive the warp to the big-screen... or even the third season; it seems that they fell to the GREEN side-- and obviously Yoda would look even funnier if he warned about that!.)
