Oh dear you got me started on Eminem... In Like Toy Soldiers Eminem raps about wanting to stop the beefs from happening because they are going too far and people are being killed over stupid things. E.g. Tupac. (There is actually a tribute to about 3 or 4 dead rappers at the very end of the video) In the video Eminem's best friend Proof gets shot and murdered as an example of what he doesn't want, his friends being killed because of rappers beefs that they have with each other. Ironically about a year after that song was released Proof WAS fatally shot outside a nightclub. The main aim of the song was to try and stop all the shootings and stupid arguments that people were having over little things. 2 of the people Eminem mentions in the song are Ja Rule & Benzino who both had beef with Eminem. Benzino was the editor or something for a magazine called 'The Source' which was very big when Eminem was a growing artist and he tried to get good reviews in the magazine but never did. Benzino would exploit his hatred of Eminem later in life after Eminem became famous by putting him on the cover all the time and using his name to help sell magazines. Ja Rule stabbed 50 cent and kept 'showing off' about it in magazines (Eminem mentions this in the song) which reignited the beef.
Overall, Eminem came out on top because we all know his name, but who honestly has heard of Benzino or Ja Rule before either hearing Eminem say their names or reading this comment?
