Sharenator Minecraft Beta Server?
Recently we finally fell into playing Minecraft, and we've been playing on our Nephew's server with his friends. As fun as it is we're wondering if anybody on Sharenator would be interested in starting up a dedicated server.
While we cannot host the server ourselves, we've found a website that could for $15 a month.
That would be for 1-8 Players (At a time) recommended.
For $30 a month we could get it to have a custom URL and 1-16 players (at a time). However that all depends on how much interest is shown by the Sharenator Community.
So then... What say you? ^^
Updating the Situation. Faceless has decided as a sort of trial to allow Sharenator members to use the server for his online clan. It's brand new and dedicated running 24/7. If you post your name below he will add it to the list of people who can join and we'll post the server address soon. We share an account so expect to find us there too every now and then.

If I really wanted to, I could host the server myself though I don't want to go and find out how like I had to with Garry's Mod, making a build server an rp server perfect was hard enough... I might still though I don't really know
Hellz yeah! Epic idea! Thing is, there is like 20000 people on Sharenator, so we would need to make it so only a few people can go on, say, the top 100? Or we could whitelist it :) Have a whitelist right here on sharenator! 3+
That sounds great, who would be paying because I could give the payer some money every now and then to pay for a month or so.
Look to the right... See the posts called "Sharenator Minecraft Server"? Yeah....
Though there are about 2 sharenator servers, they are either full, down, or some just can't connect to the hamachi/server itself. So making another server or two hosted like this will allow more players to choose from different kinds and types of servers and more people will be able to experience AWESOME!!
Every one of those posts we have seen says something about downloading this or that, our method involves nothing but the standalone Minecraft program. You connect by putting an address in the Multiplayer textbox and that's it.

To be honest, I've never touched minecraft... I'm by far the least creative person, so at most the best thing I would make on minecraft is a giant penis that spews lava...
...Actually, we may or may not have done that already... We get bored very easily, so we made a dungeon by making a 50x50x2 Spawn-room with trap-canals and all the monsters get funnel into a hole where they drop through a gigantic penis into another, better lit dungeon, where they are then fought against in epic combat and gladiatorial sweat for prizes of Diamonds. We do have a lot of fun on our current server. ^^
See? I'd be like a damn caveman in there... so lost and confused... I'd build an epic penis only to see that you guys built many more diamond penises underground in a pool of blood and lava...
Eh, lemmie get back to you guys on the weekend about that... Work is killer, and I would have NO idea what I'd be doing. But sounds fun. Give me some time and I'll let you all know.

Yea i have a server however bukkit and this new upgrade for minecraft dont work to well. There is a lot of bugs that bukkit has had to fix to even try to become stable on the new update. It is getting closer to being back up though and trust me i cant wait
Yeah neither can i, i wasn't on for awhile and i wanted to see how the server is doing, but now im forced to play in SP with no one else :(
I also recently got into minecraft and have been wanting a bit of online play, I'm just not sure my computer can handle it (it can barely handle the game itself sometimes, how sad is that?) I'm just too lazy to test a public server, and the other sharenator servers require downloads/plugins (as you previously stated) which you would not do, so, hellz yeah, I'm interested (even willing to help pay if I can manage.)
as of right now my server requires nothing for you to download.
Ypu mean this? It says you need to download hamachi, which is still a download, even if only to access the server. My comp needs all it can right now to just run the game. Dawn's is straight up put in the ip, I like the simplicty.

Final Update.
We've got a server up and running with room for plenty to join, however we will be shutting it down within a month if too few people use it. So for right now it's open to everyone with no whitelist and waiting for some new settlers ^^
