Is there an inappropriate time frame from the date of an original post to the time appropriate to respond? I have found some very old posts on here that I wanted to comment on but noticed that they were anywhere from 6 months old to over a year old. Is this problem?

    Commenting something funny about the post or replying to a 6 month old question? Is not problem, if you comment on an old post. Replying to a 6 month old question is not problem either, i've done it before, big whoop wannna fight about it? Some people complain about it (not me) that it's taking up space on the front page where new posts should be, but sometimes it's new to other people so meh. Comment without fear my friend, as long as you don't post CP or some stupid shit like that you shouldn't have any problems

    Post necromancy is not a problem. In fact, sometimes I don't see a post until someone digs it up a year later. For that, I am thankful. I must also commend you for asking. You are a noble lad.     I don't think it's a problem either unless the post or comment is just plain stupid. For example, if you comment "lol" on a thread that's over a year old, that's just stupid.

    The reason people get mad about bringing up old posts sometimes is because it can be considered "bumping", and that's against the Terms OF Service. I know a most of the time people genuinely have something of value to contribute with their comments, but we have had issues in the past with people intentionally bumping their own posts back to the frontpage.

    "Bumping" posts by posting comments like "BUMP" will get instantly deleted".
