Oh, where do i start. For one thing, most of the time Macs cannot support third party software. As in, programs that are not built for a mac, will never be on a mac. This can include popular programs such as Audacity, PowerISO, Project64 and so on.
Another reason is price. My computer is fairly up to date, sporting 2.0 ghz intel duo T6400 processor and chipset, 768*1366 screen, and 4 gigabyte DDR2 RAM, all purchased at less than $600 Canadian. The Mac equivalent of my computer is, I shit you not, $2,600 Canadian, and the only thing better is that it is HALF AN INCH SLIMMER. BIG FUCKING WHOOP. Another thing, is that many people like to brag about how sleek and stylish their Mac is. Look at Alienware (High end PC gaming computer) to see something really sleek and stylish. ANother thing is gaming. No serious PC gamer in their right mind would ever have to own a mac, because games rarely ever come out for it, and they always come out much later than the Pc release. That, my friend, is why you should never own a mac.

Macs are bad because they don't run Windows, the standard OS.
And Macs are AWESOME because they don't run Windows, the glitchy unorganized messy OS. People get so used to Windows that they don't even realize how terrible its file systems and stuff are until they see how much cleaner, more streamlined, and better-organized the whole thing is on Macs, or heck, even in Ubuntu.
For me, the attraction to Macs is basically that everything *just works*. It's just so much nicer to use. Nearly everything, hardware and software, feels perfectly designed and engineered.
If Mac OS X was the standard instead of Windows, I guarantee you the world of electronics would be a much less frustrating place.
That said, there is the issue of the price tag...

Eh, well you see my Macbook Pro was customized with almost all the optional upgrades so it could run 3D modeling software smoothly. So I guess I'm a special case, but mine cost about three grand.
...BUT IT WAS SO FREAKING WORTH IT 8D

D8 HOLY F***ING CARP. Seriously?! 50 grand?!
*gasp* IT'S THE COMPUTER OF THE FEEWWWCHERRRR!!1!
...Which, admittedly, will probably cost like $500 in the feewwwcherrrr.

ehh well actually mac does support a lot of software, including audacity. and even if some arent compatible, there are excellent alternatives.
His epic what? You just left everyone in the dark.
OH! Did you mean to use, "you're"? :]

The most common type of virus is one that has a pop up telling you it is anti-virus software. Then if you agree to anything, it owns you, because you agree to download it onto your comp. Then it has free reign. Never download anti-virus software unless you buy it or seek it out yourself. Or get a mac. : P
thanks, brought this up to my friend IRL and he said the same thing including the mac part :O
The only reason why macs hardly get viruses is because there are very few viruses programmed for a Mac. Windows, being the Standard OS, probably exists in every household, save for the Amish people of the world. Therefore, a smart programmer making a virus meant to infect as many computers as possible, would program it for Windows, not Mac. A Mac virus would probably be just as hard/easy (however difficult it is) as it is to make one for Windows.
The percentage of people using the macintosh OS lies now somewhere between 15 and 20%. That is quite substantial. If there was a "smart programmer" looking to infect as many computers as possible, I would wager attacking the Mac market would be more effective. That is because with the PC Computers on market today, almost EVERY home user has anti-virus software, anti-malware software, and EVERY business user has both of these. I don't know any Mac user with anti-virus software.
Thus, if you really want to be as successful as possible, it would be best to attack the most vulnerable part of the market. Wherever has the highest concentration of vulnerability, you make a virus for, then begin to infect, right?
Clearly, it has been decided in the programming community that it is easier to infect a Virus-protected PC with a virus than it is to infect a non-virus-protected Mac. I feel like that is saying something about the two OS's and their security.

just got a pop up.........Antimalware Doctor Critical Update Notifacation! WARNING! the antimalware doctor database is out of date....Malicious software is detected on your PC! then when i try to update it says i need to pay for a new version and lists off a bunch of stuff and says *MONEY BACK IF NOT SATISFIED!*
mate thats a virus, it asks for u to pay, then steals your moneys
If u don't remember installing it then its a virus, did u or your roomate download or allow a program over the internet access to your computer?

i clicked terminate virus's then it said ineeded to download it so there i got f*cked
But thats the whole purpose, the program/virus which you didn't install says that theres viruses and makes you pay, then steals your money, you need to find a business or a mate who can fix your computer and knows how to.
Trust me mate i've had the same problems before

MalwareBytes. Google it. Download it. Run it. Saves you all your virus issues.
i would use a search and destroy program they normally come stock in your CPU software just google it and anything that may seem a threat will be delt with by the program and i would also suggest using a different anti-virus software like AVG or if you have the funds to do it get a high grade Anti-virus program. hope this helps
