He is saying that he sucks so much in school, or he is so lazy in school, he slapped some printed paper on poster board and turned it in as a project that probably counted as a big part of his grade, and he is so proud of being lazy, he took pictures of it and seeks recognition.
Actually it was his friend, but you've got the rest of the story right.
