i have never once been bullied because of what i was wearing, and i have never seen someone being bullied soley for what they were wearing. bullies will always invent a new reason to bully because that is what they inherently do. school uniforms are only a waste of time, money, and your own freedoms.

maybe but if it was just simple formal then you still have freedom like purple shirt and black tie with just normal black slacks of you could go all out and wear a suit. but i disagree with the school designing the uniform because yes that does take freedom away from the student.

I'm English, I've worn a school uniform since the age of 4 (I'm 15 now) and there is no problems that show up about, plus uniforms are cheap

Not in my school, they had this brain dead idea that they would sell blazers for nearly £40, and trousers for £30, you don't even want to know how much the school games kit was. Just because of one shitty logo. We ended up just raiding Asda and sewing logos of old pieces of uniform onto the new ones.

Well I don't really know. From what I hear it doesn't stop bullying or kids picked on so why do it. The only benefit I see is it would be harder to sneak a weapon into a school. But if someone really wants a weapon in the school than it won't really matter because we can only do so much.

very true and it doesn't help with preventing kid from bringing guns to school because your right where theres a will theres a way.

Yes. Even though i didn't like them a huge amount when i was in school. The logic behind it is still sound. It creates unity as you're all part of the school. Because everybody wears the same stuff there is no bullying from it, say if some people are richer than others it wouldn't matter, or atleast it wouldn't be so obvious. It helps stop kids bunking off school as well because they leave the house in their uniform, you can't really go around town casually when you're obviously a schoolkid because you're in a school uniform.

Essentially there really aren't any worthwhile reasons not to have a uniform and there are worthwhile reasons to have one. Saying that there's no need for anything formal, just something like black trousers/skirt, white shirt and a school jumper, maybe a tie.

plus i love it when girls wear skirts.

When uniforms are enforced its the accessories that the rich kids use to show off. Rings, earrings, shoes, etc. But the chicks are hot when they roll up their skirts.

Also I don't really like the idea of being forced to do something (ie wear one certain outfit) when you have no choice like going to school. But there is homeschool so you don't really have to go.

Maybe a good uniform idea would just be kackies (sorry for you grammar Nazis) and any collard shirt. Not just one certain shirt or blouse.

I went to corpus christi catholic school for 2 years ( not fun). Men wore black slacks and white dress shirts, always tucked in. Women wore the same shirt and green plaid skirts. I hated every minute of it.(except the skirts were pretty sexy).

Uniforms are good when theirs gang problems at the school.
Like the JH i went to we were full of gangsters,
but since you couldnt wear different colors then the mandatory gray, maroon, or navy blue, your shoes showed what you "rep".

i went to VFMAC summer uniform wool pants that were a greyish color shined shoes shined belt grey or white polo like shirt undershirt garrison cap with shined buttons on it, winter uniform was the same pants shoes hat and belt, but you wore a tie that was tucked under the second button on the long sleeve shirt that was to tight to roll your shoulders in and with a tight colar that when new would choke you if you looked down, not to mention half a dozen other uniforms you had to wear for variose things that is why im so biased against uniforms

I think school uniforms are important for example a school boy is caught in a car crash the police will be able to identify him quickly through the schools database.

Well, when I was in elementary, we had school uniforms. But they were very basic, all you had to wear was a T-shirt of sweater with the school's logo and blue pants. Not a big deal, and no one ever complained. Though to be honest, I would definately go for wearing something semi-formal, like a suit and tie to school. Also wouldn't complain about girls wearing the skirts with thier uniforms either. :3

I had to wear a school uniform when I was in high school and primary school. They're alright because you don't get bullied for what you where and it's pretty easy to choose what to wear every morning. But it needs to be cheap, ours were ridiculously expensive because it had the school logo on. And it looked like shit. See below, minus the jumper and blazer.

Haha thanks, and yeah I know the blazers were bloody expensive, the entire thing cost more than £100 and it all fell apart, plus another £50 odd for the games kit (which I hardly ever used anyway, because my knees were fucked) it all got a tad expensive for shitty quality uniform. As I said to Bekenel we just ended up raiding Asda and sewing the logos onto there.

yeah the school pulls a nike on the students and jacks up the price for a logo which is why in my proposal i made it clear that i was against the school having a hand in the design in the whole matter which they didn't much like so i made i very quick change and suggested that the boys had to wear a tie tack of the school's crest and the girls just had to wear a pin which is very affordable as they only cost 5 dollars but the students have a vast range of selection and the new dress code seems to be working out nicely.
