Uh guys... bills all but dead now... The freaking CO SPONSORS of the bill dropped support... Its dead now.
PCIPA (protect children from internet pornographers act) is the new similar bill they are trying to get passed.
This will cause a violence both on and off the internet, We will see mass information hacks from groups like lulzsec and anon which as we saw with anti-sec is a very potent combination. And violence will come to those responsible for the bill's creation.
okay, so I have not been informed on exactly what SOPA is. I mean i do know that if it gets passed websites will be censored, but why is the government doing this? Also someone said if you were to poat a video on YouTube of you singing a song made by someone else (even if you say who made the song) it's illegal?

yes, it would be illegal. furthermore, the congressmen and women supporting this bill don't know anything about computers. they are getting money (for supporting this bill)and information for supporting this bill from hollywood essentially- media companies, movie companies, record labels, etc... they dont actually know a thing about what the internet has.
Gov. is doing it to have more control, they control everything we hear or see except the internet.
It was dropped, but they have a new bill called PCIPA, they are still trying hard to pass a similar bill.

Not just that, that bill was so vague, they could have the power to keep anything from us that they didn't want us to see or read about.
