In an effort to reduce the amount of spam, trolling, and offensive posts, Team Sharenator has come up with an updated Terms of Service. Soon it will be posted in a place where it can be seen from every page, but right now I will post it and update it here.

Posts and comments containing:

SPAM Links / any form of unsolicited advertisement (to other sites or spam sites)
Nudity
Animal sex
Graphic Violence

Offensive posts
Debates are ok, but rude, insulting, attacking, hateful, profane, threatening comments are not allowed. Be polite! Any offensive posts will be deleted.

Cheating
You are allowed to register multiple accounts (or novelty accounts) on Sharenator, as long as you use them fair. Use of multiple accounts to uprate your own content is not tolerated. Points generated this way will be removed either automatically by anti-cheat bot or by administrators. Cheating may result in a permanent ban.

Abusive downrating
Please downrate posts and comments only when you think they are inappropriate or when you genuinely don't like the content being posted.

Abusive downrating is:
When you start downrating for no other reason than to lower someone's point count
Blind downrating of every post and/or comment

Spam/advertisement of posts

Advertising posts or other websites in other peoples posts is not allowed. That's not what the response function is there for.

Very short comments that add no value and serve no purpose other than to up ones point count can be considered spam. Example: if you start randomly posting "cool", "I dunno" and similar comments in every post, your comments may be deleted.

Any posts that are also "reposts" will be deleted. It will only be deleted when a moderator confirms that it is in fact a reposted topic/picture/game/video.

"Bumping" posts by posting comments like "BUMP" will get instantly deleted".

Any posts or comments deleted by a Moderator should not be reposted regardless of what the post or comment contained.

ANY VIOLATION OF THE TERMS OF SERVICE MEANS THAT YOUR ACCOUNT MAY BE TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED. REPEAT OFFENSES WILL RESULT IN AN I.P. ADDRESS BAN!

MODERATORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DETERMINE IF ANY POSTS OR COMMENTS VIOLATE THE TERMS OF SERVICE.

That's kinda where this came from. Chances are BlinkBlink either won't know why his posts were deleted or he just won't give a shit and he'll continue to post them. Either way, if he reposts them, then they will continue to be deleted since there isn't anything more we can really do right now.

Ok, how can you know if someone is Cheating with multiple accounts?

And if random comments, like 'cool' will be deleted... I think you can delete 80% of Peace's comments.

If someone is cheating, Paul and Darius have an algorithm that will inform them of any suspicious point raises. If one brand new account is uprating nothing but one person's posts and comments, it will show up.

I can see at least one loophole, what if someone wants to see another member get banned and decides to use a different computer to make a TON of accounts. Instead of constantly downrating that person, all they would have to do is uprate and the poor guy getting uprated would be blamed for cheating without actually doing anything. And the person who made all the other accounts can still remain completely anonymous.

That's beside the point, it doesn't take much to go to a library and use their network. IP address will be very different from the computer of the guy making the accounts.

I know this is an old(ish) post but I have a valid point. Most people have dynamic IPs. Most of the time you have to pay extra for a static IP. So even on the same network you could log different IPs. You might want to take that into account.

Kinda like what you did to this post.

I have got a question, too: I saw some people are sharing links with online proxy websites and their posts do exist here. BUT when I try to share a link about this, my posts are deleting. What I did wrong? Thank you.

There is a difference between advertising other sites and trying to steal this site's traffic, and asking a question.

Pretty much if you expect to make posts on this site and advertise your site/blog, expect to get deleted.

Well we really dont need a post for proxies or other sites unless someone asks what some good ones are. When he posted that people were wondering becuase it was blocked by some places. I dont know if it is still true but if someone asks you can tell them but other than that i dont feel like it would be like a good thing to post.

I truly wish moderators had to follow these rules. But I guess we live by the golden rule. He who has the gold makes the rules.

"MODERATORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DETERMINE IF ANY POSTS OR COMMENTS VIOLATE THE TERMS OF SERVICE" I have no 'Beef' with you cause i'm not sure what happened between you and everyone on sharenator.. felt the need to point out that rule.

Oh I get that part. It an out clause for the moderators to not have to live by the rules the rest if us must live by. This site lives by the wrong golden rule. He who has the gold makes and changes the rules.

Well, Ember takes it as moderators hold others to the same standards they hold themselves. For example Ember usually only deletes spam, gore, naked people, spam, spam, and spam. Other then that Ember just lets people do/say whatever until it crosses a line. Did Ember mention spam yet? Ember does not like spam. Anyway Ember is sure that the other mods follow this rule basically the same way, not deleting people all willy nilly.
Once again, Ember is just sayin'.

I think we can agree telling so e o e to fuck off is a breach if the tos. Yet when a moderator tells you to fuck off, very offensive by anyone's definition, it only goes to prove my point that the person with the gold makes the rules.
PlEase don't think I am saying all moderators are bad but there are some bad eggs who are destroying the public perception of the moderators. It would appear that even so e moderators need to be moderated.
Thank you for your concern and comment though. Here is an eight ball of catnip and some milk as a reward.

'Tis true, it one is in an argument and another person tells the other to fuck off that is against the rules. Unless they are joking, in NotJohnEcash's case Ember wouldn't think most people would be joking (no offence but NotJohnEcash does piss a lot of people off).

Ember doesn't understand a lot of what has been going on due to work but, If what Ember has been seeing bits of is right Ember would probaly start moderating the moderators (respecfully, and everyone else in the comments). Ember would prefer if people didn't argue but they don't seem to understand opinions though.

Ember was not there though so she will be trying harder in the future so we don't have a repeat of arguments/misunderstandings. Ember will not be taking sides though because Ember does what she wants.

Also, CATNIP HELLS TO THE YEAH!

i'd like to fill embers in then, Johne had been harassing members and 24paperwings asked im to stop instead johne started calling 24paperwings a drunk. 24 asked him to stop and attempted to drop the issue, Johne kept persisting so 24 got sick of it and asked the other mods and admins if the ban would be ok. they agreed and it was done. johne has been harrassing 24 every since. 24 has been trying to be kind and hopes embers will go and check at some point. sorry for teh big mess but 24 was trying to give johne a chance... :/
24 hasn't had a problem with anyone on the site and tries to keep it that way always, 24 likes the idea of mods being moderated but believes thats kind of the purpose of admins. any ways 24 has been trying to stop arguing and would appreciate if johne left him alone. 24 comes to the site to enjoy it same as everyone else and finds that johne has been un accepting of any claim to his role in this.

seriously though i'm trying to be fair as i can here but he's been pushing his luck, i would seriously appreciate if someone would talk to him. enough is enough i come to this site to enjoy it not to be attacked daily.

Ember has been looking looking into it. It is a bit of a mess isn't it? Ember is not disagreeing with 24paperwings she has seen NotJohnEcash call 24paperwings a drunk and Ember does not think that is right and is uncalled for. Ember sees that 24paperwings was trying and Ember doesn't blame him. The problem is that 24paperwings is involved personally in the argument and being involved in an argument. Embers best advice is for 24paperwings is to stop talking to NotJohnEcash if he keeps responding the situation will get worse.

                  Enter Embers military learnings.

Also, when you are speaking to someone who is replying angrily you should not even reply back in anger, you are the example. If someone sees someone who is in a leadership role do something those under them will think it's okay. We have a lot of people to moderate and that means a lot of people to follow our example. One must always remember that the senior member will be held accountable if 24paperwings responds improperly it looks bad on him. If NotJohnEcash responds improperly it looks bad on him. But the differince is 24paperwings should know better.

No one can control another persons actions but we can control our own. Ignore NotJohnEcash and remember your... moderater bearing... let's go with that (Military bearing doesn't work here).

Ember will be impartial in this as she doesn't hate anyone here. As Ember said she will monitor the arguments/comments closer when she is not on duty. Ember will talk to NotJohnEcash when things get out of hand. Likewise Ember will remind the moderaters when they are starting to lose their bearing in a situation. Ember hopes her fellow sharenators will do the same for her and others if the time comes.

TL;DR Don't lose your bearing no matter what is said. Your bearing is more important then air. MORE IMPORTANT THEN BACON EVEN.

Also, have a picture. Or six hopeing that you haven't seen at least one of them. Also also, makes Ember feel like she wasted less of you time. Ember didn't waste 24paperwings time did she? DID SHE! *cries* Ember will go stalk someone else now.

It makes me happy to see that some people in power understand they can be held accountable. When I was a captain in the USMC, I was held to a higher standard than the enlisted men. To be a moderator is very comparable. I freely admit to my mistakes and hope we as a site may learn from and get over them but for me to do so I need even the moderators to be able to admit to their mistakes. As of yet one moderator only wants to point out my mistakes while forgetting his own,

The rules apply to everyone. What Ember meant was that when you are in an argument and people in that argument are upset when they say fuck off they mean it. Therefore your being told to fuck off broke the ToS.
However when you are talking to someone you are joking with fuck off would be taken as a joke. for example http://www.sharenator.com/rAnDOMZZ_XD/#362370
Ember said "SHUT UP VANS, NOBODY LIKES YOU!" Ember meant it as a joke and Vans knows it was a joke as we tend to joke around http://www.sharenator.com/Gangnam_Go_Go_Go_2/#362247. If Ember and Vans were in an actual argument it would have counted as breaking the ToS. But we weren't so it won't.

This (to my knowledge) why he was actually banned. The swearing "personal attacks" is a straw man.

                    "Cheating
You are allowed to register multiple accounts (or novelty accounts) on Sharenator, as long as you use them fair. Use of multiple accounts to uprate your own content is not tolerated. Points generated this way will be removed either automatically by anti-cheat bot or by administrators. Cheating may result in a permanent ban."

When the anti-cheat bot starting working, his points went right down, and he also appeared to be using multiple accounts to bump his posts to the front page. So if anything NJEC here should be thanking the mods for not swinging the ban hammer on his new account.
