    can you explain it?
    - dreed34 January 13, 2011, 5:03 am
I just cut and pasted your riddle into google and the answer came right up. Unless you ask someone to solve a riddle in person, expect them to get the answer from google.

Either that, or he heard the riddle before. This is one of the top most 5 most riddles out there.

He said, "You'll sentence me to six years in prison." If it was true, then the judge would have to make it false by sentencing him to four years. If it was false, then he would have to give him six years, which would make it true. Rather than contradict his own word, the judge set the man free.
    - Icelandgirly January 13, 2011, 9:30 am
well the point of this post is to actually think about the answer, and not cheat with google or any other stuff like that.
so if you did that, you don't deserve commenting on this post
    - Icelandgirly January 13, 2011, 9:33 am
oh wow ember you are really good at this shit if you got that.

    mhmm!
    - Icelandgirly January 13, 2011, 11:56 am
But isn't the judge going back on his word by setting him free anyway? it would make more sense if the judge gave him the six the man said he would give him and those 4 years for making a true statement, rounding it off to a nice even 10 years.

    I know. But I don't understand why its 6

Because it can be neither true or false. The judge wasn't confused, he just didn't give the man a third option.

Say I choose false. The judge will have to sentence you to 6 years in prison. But that's also a true statement so then he'll have to do 4 years. The judge gets confused. You say i'm a girl, and the judge lets you free

the riddle has already been solved, the answer is *you will sentence me to six years*
