Well.. It was an interesting video with good writing, but at the point where they announced that they declare war on the united states government, I was out.

Stirring up direct confrontation is going to lead to some bad, bad things.

avoiding confrontation through peace and diplomacy got us little, it's time for a major paradigm shift and we the people in order to form a more perfect union must follow our patriotic duty and secure our freedom and protect it from those who want more than what they already have. We sat idly by while the movie and music industry was infecting our government with corruption in order to create political means to feed their greed.

I have heard the rhetoric before, and I agree with certain parts of the overall message, but the level of corruption we are discussing is being approached with a flawed mindset.

The best case scenario involving any type of direct confrontation will either result in a few thousand deaths or a few thousand arrests. Either way, it does not improve the situation at all. Something like that will only exacerbate things. The status quo won't have changed in any meaningful way, no matter how hard people believe in their cause.

Doing anything to intended to intimidate or directly provoke the government will only give them more reasons to attempt to crack down. And this time they will have the support of a large portion of the American people because they can justly accuse Anonymous of being a dangerous terrorist threat to America. Once enough people hear that, the government will be granted a blank check to do whatever they want to eradicate any resistance in the name of National Defense.

    So, endgame ecenario:
    Pros:
    - People will hear about Anonymous and their struggle (and no, the majority of the population will not join the cause.)
    - The evening news becomes more interesting.

    Cons:
    - Thousands of people either dead or in jail.
    - Populace motivated to move against Anonymous.
    - Government granted even more control over our freedoms.
    - Internet liberties tightly reigned in.
    - Fun fact: When the government appears to be under pressure and the citizens are scared, it is likely that the economy will tank from all the fear and speculation.

I can not be convinced that the pros will outweigh the cons in the current scenario, no matter what how many tiny variables are tweaked.

Is the current government corrupt? Yes, a bit. Should something be done about it? Probably. Will a conflict between Anonymous and the government fix anything? Not likely.

you sir are very logical and i like it. i have to say that the points you make are very sound rather than declaring war they should have kept doing what they were doing and just spread the word. the people need the word and to to voice their opinions. thats how we settle this declaring war like that will more than likely make this a hell of a lot worse as you said...

I see where you are going and you're right going after the government directly will only make things worse, I think now it would be better to direct our attention at the music and movie industries.

This is extremely pathetic. Seriously, if you actually believe that any group could overthrow the US government then you are seriously fucking retarded. I can't even put into words how stupid and pathetic this video and the group that made it are. The only good thing they have ever done was fuck with Westboro, and whoopidee doo they hacked a web page. Lots of fucking people can do it. But have fun with your, ahem, "war" you ignorant fucks.

Are we really the ignorant ones? Maybe it is you that is ignorant?
    - triclebickle March 7, 2012, 6:43 pm
Hahaha I honestly do not care. I'm the kinda guy who believes in whoever has the bigger stick wins. I've got the bigger stick. I. Win. I honestly do not give a fuck about all these global problems (i.e. anything that has to do with Africa, innocent Muslims dying, really anything that does not directly affect me, my family, or my friends.) and I just love all these peace loving hippies who are going to "change the world man" No you're fucking not, sit down, shut up, and fucking get high, cause that is all you're good for anyways. So fuck them, fuck anonymous, and fuck anyone else who thinks this video is "a good plan" That is all
    - exile March 7, 2012, 6:48 pm
America had the vastly larger stick in Vietnam and we lost, I blame the hippies for how things have escalated because that's the only face of opposition so they aren't afraid to make their moves now if the movie and music executives we looking under their cars each morning with a mirror praying that there isn't a bomb under it they might be a little more apprehensive. I still believe that the government can be spared and saved we just need to eradicate the various cancer from it.
    - triclebickle March 7, 2012, 7:50 pm
Our stick was hindered in Vietnam. Couldn't fire unless fired upon. And yes I do believe that we have become some what corrupt, but anonymous is not going to do shit about it and it pisses me off that people actually think a bunch of internet nerds could wage war with the US government.
    - exile March 7, 2012, 7:53 pm
they are focusing on the wrong target, if they focused on the true evil instead of the puppet there is so much they could do with the knowledge they have. And as for Vietnam it wasn't so much rules of engagement but the fact that we were looking at it wrong tactically.
    - triclebickle March 7, 2012, 8:02 pm
Well neither of us were there so I honestly don't think we know lol. And I do agree slightly, I don't think that the proper way to go about it is to say "We are declaring war on the US government." But we won't show you who we are cause were scared. Fucking stand up for what you want to do and show yourselves if you believe in something. Anonymous is just a cowards way to deal with your problems. And I fucking hate cowards.

Do they have to make their videos look and sound more dramatic.
