Nukes

The United States has 5,113 nuclear warheads in its stockpile and "several thousand" more retired warheads awaiting the junkpile, the Pentagon said Monday in an unprecedented accounting of a secretive arsenal born in the Cold War and now shrinking rapidly.
The Obama administration disclosed the size of its atomic stockpile going back to 1962 as part of a campaign to get other nuclear nations to be more forthcoming, and to improve its bargaining position against the prospect of a nuclear Iran.
The Pentagon said the stockpile of 5,113 as of September 2009 represents a 75 percent reduction since 1989.
Who agrees with me; that is still a lot of nukes!
I also thought this picture was pretty funny

You forgot
I never met a man i didnt like- Will Rogers
I never met a man i didnt like- Will Rogers
From what I have hear. We have enough nukes to kill all life on earth 3 times over. But right now I don't really think is the time to be spending money on this. Our economy is in shambles. We need to spend money on urgently needed things. This Is important but I don't know if it is one of our priorities.
ah i say let them create a fallout universe thats is the actual equilvalent to the game. im goin in a vault-tec vault. and im gonna save the world
lets just put it at alot and leave it at that ha ha
Yeah but really now they are pretty much just a defensive mechaism. If we go to war with any other country it would be very unlikely that either would use a nuke because of MAD. But you'd better have nukes cause if you don't they will be used on you.
Ever heard of cyber warfare? Basically, we now have the technology to hack into a country's power grid and finance amoung other things. Imagine if the pentgon was hacked. Nowadys we also have anti-nuke weapons made/in developement. (For example, satillites that can destroy/disable nukes before the hit.) So in this day and age, nukes are the least of our worries.
That's enough nukes for one every 27202 km-squared (Brief calculation, sue me if I'm a bit off) of the worlds land mass excluding the US. For you Americans, that's about the size of Massachusetts, for Brits, that's about the size of Ireland, for anybody else, I can't be bothered to find another one.
So yeah, be afraid. :P
So yeah, be afraid. :P
I say we just use em on whoever we don't like today, cuz we all know it's gonna change again tomorrow. First it was Iraq, then Afghanistan, now it's Pakistan and Iran, to quote the late great George Carlin, "America has been in the business of bombing brown people for over 60 years, if you've got brown people in your country you'd better watch the fuck out."
