is it just me or does Bill Belicheck seem like some sort of mafia don hoarding his like 6 picks in the first 3 rounds and just waiting for poor shmucks trying to get them?

Patriots are the best. Colts come in at a close second

This is not including trades. There are going to be plenty of trades done obviously.

Rumor is with the 33rd overall, the Pats are going to deal it to whatever team needs a QB a la Dalton or Kaepernick, or Mallett if he falls to the 2nd.

Some team would give up next year's 1st round pick for it.

Lets see... Cardiac Cat fan all my life, and I will say that the lockout being blocked by the federal courts certainly complicated teh Panthers draft plans.

I personally believe that Cam Newton to the Panthers is all a smokescreen, and I think we'll either go with Dareus as a dominant D tackle, or go with A.J. Green since Steve Smith will be moved when the season starts.

I think the Panthers want to trade back and get a 2nd round pick, and take the best player available, which will either be Green, Dareus or Peterson.

Newton to the Panthers also doesnt make much since now since the Panthers could potentially trade their first overall pick to say, the Bengals for their 4th overall, a 2nd or 3rd rounder, and Carson Palmer.

Well, I wouldn't want Palmer. IMO, I think you guys should stick with Clausen, trade down a bit maybe 4-5 spots, get another 2nd rounder. draft Julio Jones with first rounder, so theres your all star receiver. Then do whatever with two 2nd round picks. Just my thoughts.

I personally prefer Clausen over Newton any day, and with our schedule, odds are we'd be close to landing Andrew Luck next year anyways :/

I'd LOVE to trade down, but I think the only ones who would want to do it is Cincy, Arizona (to land Gabbert) or Buffalo (to get Newton if they believe we're that dead set on him). And personally, I'd take Green over Jones any day. Green just seems like that dynamic receiver that comes out once every 5 years, a la Larry Fitz or Calvin Johnson.

Damn the front office for trading our 2nd rounder last year :/

It'd make things easier if you guys could convince Smith to stay. AJ Green along with Smith would be deep. Stewart and DeAngelo on the backfield also. Or trade smith for more picks?
    - Jjbigscreeners April 26, 2011, 1:39 pm
I'll be pissed if Smith goes, because he is my all time favorite player (I own like 4 freaking jerseys!), but from what I keep reading and hearing, they asked Smitty if he wanted to stay or go, and if he wanted to go, then they would work with him and trade him, so its really his choice if he wants to go. But looks like we'll be trading him for something soon since players can be moved now.

Not too mention your division is ridiculously tougher.
3 teams with winning records lol, gl.

Basically the professional teams draft players from college schools to play in the pro league.
    - Jjbigscreeners April 27, 2011, 7:00 am
rememberer when you used to pic teams for games at school? same thing. each pro team has one pic from the college players, then its the next pro teams time to pic. for more information about the rules of the draft... look it up.
    - johnecash April 27, 2011, 7:00 am
    Aaah okay. Thanks.
Do they just pick one player?
What happens if there is a guy who is picked by the Packers and he hates them. Can he say no or something?
    - Curuba April 27, 2011, 8:40 am
There is 7 rounds. Each team has one pick a round but you can trade players for picks so teams can get more picks. And they can't say no lol.
    - Jjbigscreeners April 27, 2011, 8:58 am
They can say no lol. If they don't sign the contract, then they go back into the draft the next year. Or if they're real slick, like Eli Manning did when the Chargers were going to draft him, he could flat out say "hell no I'm not playing for the Chargers" and the team that drafted him could trade away his rights to a different team, like they did to the NY Giants.
    - WRAPPEDinBACON April 27, 2011, 11:02 am
well they could decline the contract they offer them and end up sitting out a year and signing with another team
    - buddyfoeva April 27, 2011, 11:06 am
    :O did not know that.
    - Jjbigscreeners April 27, 2011, 11:14 am
    Ah Thank you guys.
    +1 for each of you

    Can't wait for Handegg season!

5 soccer players faked an injury during the time it took you to post that comment. ;)
    - Jjbigscreeners April 27, 2011, 5:05 am
I don't know which sport has the best acting, soccer or basketball. They are both full of fakers.
    - CallMeGoogle April 27, 2011, 5:09 am
Basketball isn't so much acting, but they can get fouls called whenever they want. But I hear ya.
