i did them as grid drawings, still good compared to my last attempt, take a look.. if you guys want me to upload the actual pictures, in color, not the pencil ones, tell me and i'll get them uploaded :)
I draw myself, nd I can tell you what made me improve... a lot. Being told I wasnt as good as I thought I was. People filling you with a sense of "YOURE AMAZING!" when your not, gives you a false sense, pushing you to where you dont improve as much as you would if you get told youre bad.
Heres a nice review from a fellow anime artist. Dont be offended, and be proud about what you do. I dont mean to be mean at all! :D
You need a lot of work. Your proportions are off, and your shading is bad :/ lighten up on the pencil, slowly pressing harder to give it a nice finished look. Look up the roman face proportions and study it. It will be your best friend!
You will get a lot better :)
Dont take what I said personally, I just dislike it when people throw out false words and build up a false hope. Good luck and dont give up! +3 :D
if you want to exercise drawing try cutting up random shapes out of paper, then throw them out the window and try and draw the different positions of them you see :D (seriously helps a lot)
It's pretty good, and when I say that, what I mean is, like a lot of other people have said, you need to practice more, which is what you appear to be doing.
What I would like to see is some original works. Draw your own anime characters. Believe me, it will help you to improve to come up with your own. I use to do a lot of drawing myself, but haven't in a long time. When I did draw, I did an art class in collage, I didn't reach my full potential until I stopped trying to copy others work and began to create my own.
You've got a lot of potential, nurture it and let the creative juices flow. You'll get better, and gain a much better sense of accomplishment when you draw something original.
Keep it up :) I look forward to seeing your progress :)
thanks man, i'm actually planning to design my own at some point, i still need to practice a bit first, last time i tried to draw an anime character without something to copy it looked like a deformed midget with twigs for limbs XD
Sniff..I remeber when I used to draw then my Dad told me to grow up...I went to college and became an Electrical Engineer, now I design Solar turbines, and other Solar power services....and its boring! FML!!
