dont you dare curse me!!!and i dont know. i go in the one portal. the one in the nether was created, and now they are connected. do you have a lot of portals close together?
the only thing i forgot to show was how much space between the levels.
the spawning area needs to have 2 blocks above it so that monsters can spawn.

the first thing i showed was how to build each level to get the monsters to go to the sides and fall down right?
the 3x3 holes go in the corner and the water flows from a spot in the middle of the side.
right next to the water flow is the area were the monsters spawn. the other side is the wall containing all of this. you can build as many floors as you want, the more the better the drop rate of the items. hope that helped a bit.

Still having issues with making it... I have made most of it but nothing will spawn. Here's two vids showing what I have. Please help...
alright...first off the tower needs to go straight up. i got no clue what you did there...like maybe half of a floor or something...also did you make sure that its completely dark inside? like absolutely no light from anything?

No. I can't use the same key. So im probably going to be giving it back to you. If you get a hold of Tyler I could get the full version of minecraft for some multiplayer.

We built a 50x50x2 room on our server that works in a very similar way, and we even built a glass wall in the spot where all the monsters get killed. There is something delightful about watching a creeper get pulled along with that sorry little frown on it's face, you can imagine it saying "No! Please don't kill me! I didn't blow up your old fortress and leak lava into the mines! That wasn't me! It's not my fault! No don't- AIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!-... (Then the little pings for having gotten items ^^)"
We can honestly say these sorts of mob-grinding traps are the most rewarding thing in Minecraft, although time consuming. Ours took 9 and a half hours to make.

Mine took about a week of planning,building, and collecting to get it just right. and yes it is one of the rewarding things in minecraft, besides putting in the last block of that amazing building you constructed that is just awesome...you get my point.
