She started the marathon on the same day as everyone else, but due to being paralysed from the waist down after a horse riding accident, she was told by doctors she would never walk again. Using a bionic suit, she completed the marathon in 16 days.
An amazing achievement, yet the organisers refused to give her a medal. Somewhere in the marathon rules it says that you are only eligible for a medal if you finish on the same day.

Various people showed concern that she never recieved a medal, Ellie Stevens (A runner from GB) tweeted about it, since then, she has been sent 14 finishers medals by random people who completed the race that year.
