Ok, this kept me scrolling up and down for several minutes. This is amazing.

Its a sequence of photos from the same spot on a tripod. You just edit them to overlap where they match perfectly and WA-LA! 3d image.

He either hit the panorama button on his camera or took the photos professionally and then edited them together
very nice idea though, most people just do it for landscapes
