why not simply assume that a group of people were given papers in church or Sunday School and asked to write a small note to god?

No need to seek malice when a perfectly reasonable (and more believable and heart-warming) explanation is available.

The wonderful thing about these is even if they are fake, dosen't matter. Someone was thinking about God and made you and I think about him. Maybe if we all did that more often our world may be a little bit better. :)

I think the letters to God were cute. Even if they're faked, likely many of the ideas originally came from children anyway. Just the same, it sure would be interesting to hear a handwriting forensic expert's opinion.

ok, they may not b written by children, though i've heard children say things like these...the authors may not have really cared if what they wrote was "read by God' or not...beyond that they were written with intention,th authors intended to write letters to God for one reason or another that makes them 100% real. I see nothing that indicates that these letters were supposed to be honest or written by children. how do you defend your "fake" proclaimation?

Every one of us has a small child in them. Can we not pretend to be that child every now and then? Do we have to take things to such an extreme? One likes to play now and then.

And just because you don't believe in it doesn't make it any less real. You will die and either go to heaven or to hell. All your fancy words and philosophy will not change what is going to happen to you. You think people are being brain washed by believing in God? Do you know how long eternity is? endless. I want to be endlessly in heaven. I will believe and tell others to believe in hopes that they will not end up in hell. The devil wants you so bad.

these are all from a book that I have. The introduction says that these are all real letters. The reason the lighting and such is the same is because whoever posted this photocopied the pages from the book. It really is an amazing book. I think its called "Letters to God". Definitely a worthwhile purchase.
