I've got really bad connection in our house, half the time the laptop can't connect to the internet and on the xbox about every third game disconnects, so winning tornaments has become impossible :P
So my friends said to do this internet speed test thing, but i don't really know what the results mean :P can someone tell me how good my connection actually is pls? :D
Lower ping is better, higher download & upload is better. I have 42 ping, 2.91 DL & 0.35 UL, your upload speed is far better than mine so you should be able to put things like pictures & videos onto the net much quicker than me but other than that, should be very similiar. If you are getting disconnected, maybe you just need to move closer to the router or go wired.
somehow i don't have too many problems on COD, only FIFA that gives the problems.
I can't go wired because the cable would need to run the from one corner of the house downstairs to my room on the other corner upstairs, but thanks for the advice anyway :D
If that tells you anything.
if its mega bits per second it is 1/8 of 3 mega bytes. But it is still pretty good, it would take 8 seconds XD
at least in theory, of course you dont use all of that speed when downloading something, but it is really good.
Staying connected doesnt even have a lot to do with your speed, your provider is the reason, I really have a fucking fast connection but sometimes the internet is just gone, and the reason is that I have a really shitty provider who cant really handle everything so sometimes it is just gone. And sometimes at night they seem to work on it, but then I cant use the internet at all which is not fine.
the thing you're saying about downloading songs, does that count for youtube? because trust me when i say youtube does not load each video in 1 second, each one takes about 20 secs with at least 1 or 2 pauses mid way through -_-
Youtube is a different story, you only download a little part of the video, called buffer, so it only loads that bit and then starts and during the video it downloads more, so you dont have to download the whole movie. So if your have a bad connection or nothing at all you may dont download the buffer and the video stops. But pausing the video and waiting doesnt help a lot because you just download that buffer bit.
i think we also have the cables in the road, but i genuinely don't know
pausing the video doesn't help? it does for me (sometimes it works), i open up a video, pause it to do something else, and come back
This is mine, it's not too bad, especially by the standard of my friend's speeds. I'm fully jelly of my school's speed. 50mb down, 60mb up, 7ms ping. Ill post an image when I can get it.
