The Theron guy has a very valid point. Just because you don't agree with what someone does doesn't mean that you are being a gay-basher or judging them. Everyone is entitled to their opinion just like everyone is entitled to their lifestyle.

I completely agree. its the people that take action on their opinion that are a bunch of fucks.
If you strongly dislike a group or race, keep it to yourself and dont let it interfere with how you react with them

I totally agree, at some point I really kinda hated the turks but it is because they are always having money by doing illegal things and still getting money from the country. If they kill someone with 5 people 2 of them get like 3 years and the rest just have to work a few hours. But after I met some I realized that just some are that way and I learned that you first have to get to know someone before you can hate/love the person.
I also dont care if someone is gay but I hate it when you are nice and they think you are also gay and start flirting with you, even if I tell them I am hetero they think I just didn't come out of the closet XD. That usually only happens when they are drunk, sober they are really cool

well yeah XD it seems kinda funny but I hate it XD when I was barkeeper there where sometimes guy that were flirting with me like a girl. And sometimes when I party and there is that gay black friend of me he gets really touchy. Then the girls start to think I am gay and then they started talking to me because they wanted a gay friend. I dont know if he did it so I meet girls (but they all had a boyfriend -.-) or if he was just too drunk.
I actually think he is bi because when he is drunk he starts to touch girls, everywhere and they dont care because he is gay lol. Sometimes a friend of me acts like it is his boyfriend so when he is dancing with a girl he goes up to him and says "honey come back and dance with me" soooo funny, and it is really funny when the girl thinks he is straight XD

To be fair, some of it is in response to the people who really do make dickish judgments. I can't fault a person for attacking a terribly narrow minded opinion. (Some people really do need a good verbal thrashing from time to time.)

That is the thing, everyone says "Gay people don't choose to be gay" - How do you know? I am not gay. I like boobs and woman and all things nice :P But if I wanted to, I could decide tomorrow that I don't want a relationship with a woman and that I would much prefer a relationship with a guy. You have no idea how many gay people have actually decided for themselves that they want cock instead.

For any gay people to say that any homophobes are bad people, they are being just as bad the the homophobes because they don't like a group of people.

Just as "gays don't have a choice" how do you know that it isn't built into some people to not like gays?

You see, you're talking about Bisexuals. Whereas, gay peopl naturaly find the opposite sexually unattractive. If they 'decide' to have a relationship with a woman the next day then they are kidding themselves, aren't they?

Well, why would anyone choose to be gay if they like the opposite sex? Why lie to yourself about preferences? It makes no sense. Even if it is a person's choice, that choice has no negative impact on my life or yours. The hate is narrow-minded and completely uncalled for.

"Just as "gays don't have a choice" how do you know that it isn't built into some people to not like gays?"

That justifies nothing. It's like saying racism is okay because some people grow up hating black people. Hating someone for trivial bullshit that doesn't effect you and they have no control over is inexcusable.

I am straight, but I do believe that gays don't choose to be gay. For example have you ever fallen in love with someone who you knew was wrong for you or a complete jerk? You don't know why, but your attracted to them, that's how it is with them. I have a lot of gay, lesbian, and bisexual friends and they all tell me that they fought their feelings at first (not saying all do) because they were told how wrong it was, but they kept going back to feeling the same way, they decided they can't help but fall in love with the people they are in love with. If other people don't like it, then they should just leave it alone and stay out of their lives. They are not hurting anyone, they are just in love.

You're assuming that being bisexual is a bad thing. I was just saying you might be, not that there's anything wrong with it. Being bi is awesome, you have twice as many people to be able to fall in love with.

But no, it's not bad to get mad at homophobes, because they're the ones who are being closed-minded and backwards in their ways.

I don't see why it is close minded to not like something. Do you like people who love Justin Beiber? Be careful what you say here, if you say yes then you look like a tit. If you say no then you go against everything you already said in your previous comments and therefore look like a tit.

And I never said being bisexual is bad. But people are teased and tormented or being gay or bi.
And again, the point I made before was not meant as a direct implication of my own feelings. Not once did I say anything about falling in love, I simply said "want a relationship with" which is completely different. And again I do not mean that I want a relationship with a guy so talking about me being bi still is going to get you nowhere.

It's closed-minded to say, "I disagree with something that's been biologically proven, just because the Bible tells me so!"

Science has not proven that Justin Bieber sucks.

Well then there was just a misunderstanding. I thought you had said you could switch if you wanted.

It was not meant as a direct link to myself. But as a general idea that many people could switch, not to fall in love, but for a relationship.

Edit: and just because someone disagrees with you doesnt make them stupid. it means they have a mind of their own.

The internet isn't always reliable. If you want proof, go to a university library and read a scientific journal about it, the research is all there.

And why can't they be flamboyant? Freedom of expression, dude. It's in the Constitution.

Fair enough, and that's a two way street. If they have the right to express themselves, then so should I. I'm not gonna try and do something physically or anything like that, that would be idiotic, if anything, only cause you would land yourself a jail cell. But simply not liking gays doesn't make a person wrong.

Not liking them, sure. But saying it's a choice when it's been proven not to be? That is, by definition, wrong. Not morally wrong (although it can lead to that in some cases when people go too far), but wrong as in incorrect.

Well i have yet to make my way to a local library lol so i cannot dispute these claims. But i just don't understand why people act like someone who doesn't agree with someones views on gays and wars and really anything is automatically a bigot. those people are doing exactly what they claim to hate. i come from a fairly small town. lots of conservative christians and people that share the same views so i dont see it much. but when i talk to people on here they act like people who dont agree with them are idiots solely because they dont share the same opinions. dosent make sense.

i would say someone who is acting out on a minority just cause they dont like them is being stupid. someone who just doesnt like a group of people from a certain race and doesnt go around trying to convince people of their views, no i would consider them to be a fine person with a mind of their own.

Ertrov, this is one of my favorite posts you have ever posted, thank you for that :D

Me and someone else were talking about this today because my gay friend posted a picture of himself on facebook with his boyfriend (they were not kissing, hugging, or anything, just standing there) and the stuff people posted just blew my mind. Treating anyone THAT badly is terrible, but treating them like that just becuase of who they love is down right ridiculous

I don't really care about Gays marrying, but they should not be allowed to raise kids.

Some of the most well-rounded kids come from a home with two parents. So unless you're willing to say single mothers can't raise children either, gays should be able to have and raise kids.

Two males cannot make a child together. Two females cannot make a child together. It was not intended for two members of the same sex to have a child, therefore they should not be able to raise one. I'm not saying they wouldn't be great parents because a lot would, but it is unfair to the child.

So then if a husband in a straight marriage is sterile, they shouldn't be allowed to adopt? I mean, they're biologically unable to reproduce, so they shouldn't have kids, right?

Yes they should be allowed to adopt. You're taking my words out of context. My basis is that a child should be raised by a man and a women, or just a man, or just a woman.

So having one parent who's busy trying to work and still raise a kid, and can't give them as much love and care is better than two loving parents who happen to be the same gender? I think you just showed your bias isn't based on any actual evidence.

They do if your opinion is that a group of people shouldn't be allowed to do something. What if you're ever in a position of deciding that legally, as a representative? Or if you're in a country where voting directly takes place and that comes up? You'd better have some evidence before deciding the future of someone's family.

Obviously. But I'm just stating my opinion on a website, not trying to propose a law. This is just thought-provoking discussion and nothing more, to me.

To be honest look at it this way, would you want to be raised to 2 homosexual males? I know I wouldn't. Although they could be great parents, from the moment anyone at your school finds out about it, BOOM, your reputation is ruined. You are now and forever more the kid with gay parents. End of. Would you want that? Being teased and taunted every day about it?

So what kids say about your parents is more important to you than the fact that they love you? Wow, I'm glad neither of your parents are different in any way, or you'd be embarrassed to have them.

My opinion is pro-choice, but I don't think it's something men have a place in deciding it legally, as we're not the ones getting pregnant.

The point is Ertrov, people get teased and bullied in school for simple things such as having ginger hair. Kids come home crying from school because of things that people say to them. People get bullied for having rich parents, they are bullied for having poor parents. Kids pick on literally ANYTHING to single out people and make fun of them.
Having 2 homosexual male parents could literally destroy a kids school life. Children kill themselves over what other kids say about them, would you want that on your concience?

Lets say you were gay and had an adopted kid with another man. How would you feel coming home one day to find a note in your kids room that tells you they have run away or killed themselves because kids are teasing them about having gay parents.
That would make a childs death your fault. You adopted them, you chose to do it, you killed the kid.

Just as rich parents chose to have a kid, or parents that both have red hair, or poor parents. Should they not have kids out of the fear that their kid would be teased? Of course not. They should talk to their kid and make sure they understand that some people are just judgmental. Same with gay parents.

actually, i truly wouldn't mind it. I mean, if i had gay parents and people found out, yeah there'd be jokes, but if my attitude towards it was not that of a victim, and more 'so fucking what?' then really, nobody will try to exploit it.
But then, that's just me. I love gay people. I'm straight myself, but many are so much more pleasant to be around than a lot of straight people i know

hi :) im someone who was raised by my biological mum whos a lesbian and her partner, and i have no problem with it, in fact her girlfriend has probably shown me more affection and done more for me than my dad, just cause your the same sex doesn't mean you cant raise a child because you can do the exact some things, and everyone at my school knew about it and didnt care because i was proud of my mum for being who she is and doing what makes her happy :)

Then I believe gravity doesn't exist. By your logic, this belief is just as valid as someone who believes it exists. Just because it's been proven doesn't mean I have to believe in it, right?

i'm saying like no one forces you to be gay you're not born gay....Im saying being gay is all a choice....this decision was made by said person at a certain age and they grew up with it and once its locked in your brain there's nothing you can do about it... and im talking about like gthe real gays not the people who do it for popularity and shit....some who say they have always been that way are the ones who had it at a very very very young age and cant rememebr that far all they know is that they like their same gender and nothing can change that.

I'll ignore that, your sexual orientation is something that develops, not something you choose. Just like me when I reached sexual maturity I all of a sudden found big tits more appealing than small ones, I didn't choose that.
