Hi I've been trying and trying and trying for he past 3 weeks and I can't find a modernish song that is easy to play on the guiar.

I would like 2 jthank u for the songs bcause of u I have passed my music exams and my first concert was a big success ty I got £1,809 for a charity but I did keep £200 cos I sed I would if I got enough ty =] =] =] =] =] =] =] =] =]

Just listen to the song to get a feel for how it's played, ideally you should look up some youtube acoustic covers of it so you can hear the guitar clearly throughout.

I LOVE this song, and learned to play it by watching them perform it on TV - he has to tune down to a DROPPED D , but its pretty easy and a great song - - Everlong by the Foo Fighters

The easiest options would be the intro to Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" and the riff to Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" (with the former being the easier option).
If you want to cover a whole song though, "Unintended" by Muse is an easy one. It uses very basic chords: E, B, Am, D, G and C.
